I believe Satchel Paige was 42 years old when he was allowed to enter the MLB in '48 with the Indians and rumor has it he was 59 years old when he took the mound for the last time. Reportedly won 2,000 out of the 2500 games that he's pitched in.

One of my favorite quotes of all time was from him when asked of his age: "Age is a question of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."
