confussed how this story is racist, story is disturbing but does not need to be Pacman handled. You would be talking about ending ATL season without any type of official conviction. Mike is not Marcus

Mike is way worse than Marcus. Mike has already had the Ron Mexico incident, the water bottle incident, this horrible dog fight thing. And he flipped off his home crowd, yeah this is a model citizen and should be allowed to make millions and act like a thug.

Vick linked to breeder
Falcons QB associated with pit bull Web site

By D. ORLANDO LEDBETTER
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 05/03/07

A Web site associated with a Michael Vick company, MV7, LLC, professes to be in the business of breeding pit bulls and other dogs as pets not for fighting.

VicksK9Kennels.com states that, "We do not promote, support or raise dogs for fighting and will not knowingly sell, give, or trade any dog that may be used for fighting."

The property Vick owns in Virginia where dozens of dogs were confiscated last week in a dog-fighting investigation is listed as the address for the Web site and the company, 1915 Moonlight Road, Smithfield, Va.

VicksK9Kennels.com is copyrighted to MV7, LLC, a Vick company. Lawrence H. Woodward Jr., Vick's longtime attorney, is listed as the registered agent for MV7, LLC, by the Virginia State Corporation Commission.

In New York for league functions over the weekend, Vick attempted to distance himself from the property and blamed his family members for the activities that attracted law enforcement officials.

"I'm never there. I'm never at the house," Vick said Friday in New York. "I left the house with my family members and my cousin. They just haven't been doing the right thing. The issue will get resolved.

Vick could not be reached Monday through the Falcons. Calls to Woodward's office in Virginia Beach were not returned.

Investigation in the case is ongoing, Christine Golden of the Chesapeake Police Department said Wednesday.

If you go to the Atlanta Falcon MB youll see all kinds of fools trying yo defend Vicks actions saying that these are just allegations and Vick never gets convicted of anything so he must be innocent. Vick knows full welll what goes on at that house and he is there often according to neighbors and witnesses. Each time he gets in trouble he says I dont know nuttin about it? Give me a break. Also dog fighting is a gambling venue and who knows what else he may gamble on. Football maybe?

Vick trying to avoid league doghouse

Bob McManaman

Michael Vick says he gets it.

In a candid and come-clean interview with ESPN during the NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback promised to polish his image, make changes to his lifestyle and his circle of friends and become a better role model.

More important, he also made these promises to Roger Goodell during a 20-minute meeting advertisement

with the NFL commissioner. advertisement

Actions speak louder than words, but even if Vick turns squeaky clean and never has his name attached to another unflattering news story, the scrambling quarterback might not get out of the woods.

Contrite or not, Vick could be suspended as part of Goodell's crackdown on player misconduct. And it might not be a slap on the wrist, either.

If Virginia prosecutors determine that Vick had knowledge of an alleged dog-fighting ring operating out of a rural property he owns there, Goodell will have no choice but to banish one of the NFL's most exciting and marketable stars.

It could be four games. It could be eight. It could be longer. Animal abuse in Virginia is punishable by up to one year in prison.

Think the Falcons regret trading backup quarterback Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans?

Vick said he is innocent, adding that he was never at the house in question and that he lets extended family members stay there. But Vick also owns a dog-breeding business that sells pit bulls, and even though a Web site maintains that it is not for dog-fighting purposes, the suspicion is haunting.

Vick might be innocent, of course. But recent incidents, poor decisions and his televised promise to change his ways before it is too late add up to one thing: He is on a very short leash with the NFL, and if he is not careful - or extremely fortunate - the league could send him to the doghouse for quite a long time.

How will this play out in Atlanta, where Vick is revered by most? Not very well, I'm afraid. But not just because there are so many Vick fans there. It also is because the Falcons might have traded the wrong quarterback.

Flowery Branch ? Falcons coach Bobby Petrino said Wednesday he has faith that quarterback Michael Vick has been truthful with him in conversations about the circumstances regarding a dog-fighting investigation at a property Vick owns in Virginia.

Petrino did not disclose whether Vick acknowledged any involvement in dog fighting and would not elaborate on the details of their conversation. Petrino also said he hopes there is a swift resolution to the matter.

Vick also has spoken to team owner Arthur Blank and president and general manager Rich McKay about the dog-fighting investigation, Petrino said.

"I need to believe in Michael," Petrino said before this weekend's mandatory three-day minicamp. "Since I've been here, a couple of situations have come up. We've sat down and talked about them, and certainly his track record with me has been that he's told me the truth, so I'm going to believe in what Michael tells me."

Falcons quarterback Michael Vick spoke openly about raising pitbulls at a property he owns in Virginia and it does not come as a surprise that there is an investigation of illegal dog fighting, a person familiar with Vick told the Atlanta Journal-Constituion.

On Wednesday, SI.com cited "sources who have known Vick well for years" as saying they were convinced Vick was involved in illegal dog fighting.

Lets see if Vick can buy his way out of this one.

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank, concerned that quarterback Michael Vick could be suspended by the NFL, has had another meeting with his embattled star where "I could not have been more stern.":SIB

Blank spoke to Vick in person about a series of recent off-the-field incidents, most recently an ongoing investigation of illegal dog fighting at a property he owns in Virginia.

Blank said he did not know if Vick has any involvement but, "from the facts we have so far, it's not a pretty picture. :scared It's clearly an issue and we'll wait and see what revolves around it. I'm not a prosecutor or an attorney so I'm not going to sit in judgment of Michael."

The team owner said he asked NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to speak to Vick last month while both were at the NFL draft in New York.

"What [Goodell] will do about it, I'm not sure, but he's not going to take it lightly," Blank said. "He's got Michael on his radar and I think he made that clear to Michael as well."

In recent weeks, Goodell has suspended two NFL players for the upcoming season for off-the-field incidents.:nono:

Blank, in a phone interview while on vacation, said he has grown weary of all the negative press Vick has generated since making an obscene gesture on Nov. 26 to fans at the Georgia Dome after the Falcons lost to the New Orleans Saints.:SIB :scared

"I told him, 'You represent us as a franchise, you represent yourself as a person and you represent the NFL. It's not one single thing, it's a series of things,' " Blank said.:nono:

"I'm not saying he's been directly involved, but in some cases he has been, and in some cases it's been the people around him." Blank said he admonished Vick: " 'You're responsible for who you're with. You need to make some difficult choices and you need to make them now. I think you're at a critical point in your life.' "

The Journal-Constitution submitted several written questions to Vick through the Falcons public relations department Thursday. The response stated: "As you are aware, Michael's attorney has advised him to not answer any questions specific to the investigation."

Vick did respond to questions about his meetings with Blank and Goodell.

"They both challenged me to be more accountable in all areas of my life. I know I need to make some changes around me to make sure that the people in my life have my best interest at heart. My goal is to not let my fans, my teammates, or my coaches down.

"Mr. Blank was very direct with me. :SIB He and I both understand and agree that the responsibility to not show up in the paper, on TV, or on the internet in a negative light is mine."

Vick spoke openly about raising pit bulls at a property he owns in Virginia and it does not come as a surprise that there is an investigation of illegal dog fighting, a person close to Vick told the Journal-Constitution.

On a Wednesday posting, SI.com cited "sources who have known Vick well for years" as saying they were convinced Vick was involved in illegal dog fighting. In Virginia, dog fighting is a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.

"I am concerned about [a possible suspension]," Blank said. "I don't think we're at that point, but you're concerned about that. If he's found to be guilty or charged with dog fighting ? obviously, I have no idea or indication of what that will be ? that's serious stuff.":com:

Police were initially at the property in Surry County, Va., in a drug investigation involving Vick's cousin when contraband related to dog fighting was found.

Vick also was investigated for trying to bring a water bottle ? with a secret compartment that smelled of marijuana ? through a security checkpoint at Miami International Airport in January. He was not charged, but Falcons president and general manager Rich McKay had a "stressful" conversation with him following the episode.

A day before police investigated the property in Virginia, Vick missed a breakfast in Washington where he was to be honored by a children's advocacy group ? and seven U.S. congressmen.

Blank has been criticized for being too close to Vick. Blank did not deny the relationship with Vick, but said it has allowed him to be firm with Vick when needed.

"If it sounds like I'm talking stern, like to a child of mine, I am," Blank said. "He needs to take some personal responsibility.":142smilie

Blank said he also reminded Vick that he could lose his lucrative endorsement deals if he continues to garner negative publicity. Vick has several endorsement deals, the biggest with Nike and AirTran.

"I told him that if, 'You think [Nike chairman] Phil Knight is going to have the image of his company tarnished you're wrong. They have a lot of athletes that represent them and represent them well. Michael, I'm telling you they're not going to sit by, just like the NFL won't sit by.' He told me he is aware of that."

Blank said Vick has promised him and head coach Bobby Petrino that he's already begun to make changes to improve his image and his life. Petrino, on Wednesday, championed Vick's work ethic and said that he believed in him.

Petrino said he had hoped the Vick controversy would not overshadow this weekend's mandatory, three-day mini-camp, which begins today, and that he would instruct his players to focus on and talk about football-related issues.
