Looks like this board has a particular state of mind.

Utah is one of the most beautiful places on the earth. Would not necessarily want to live there, but... I have had some great experiences in Utah. The people I encountered there are awesome.

It sure is, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! I don't blame ya for not wanting to live here though.. I, myself am about ready to part ways (was born and raised here..) The people are very friendly, but when you get into the real mormon type cities, there are a lot of self righteous ding bats.

LOL...how did you know?!

Cause you're friends With Hedgey on Facebook - Those are not the actions of a sane woman making decisions for herself.

It seems that Georgia is a popular choice as that is where I belong also....I love Savannah so that is where I probably would live....

Family. Raising two kids on the top of a mountain was difficult. With Chad coaching, it takes a LOT of time out of our schedule, and now we have a lot of extended help. Also, having mountain lions basking on your deck and bears running through your backyard is quite lovely, but when you have two little kids, it can be a bit of a nuisance.

yeh maybe when you go back look for not in the mountain boonies. I want to live in Colorado when I retire. I have heard a lot of things about Steamboat . And I have been told if you go way south you don't get all the cold and snow so bad. It would be a easy trip to Texas to visit family and grandkids.

All you Bastids are coming to Ga and they are shipping me out to Wyoming:sadwave:

I grew up there. There is no more beautiful state in the nation. Stark beauty in many areas, but still beautiful to my eye. The Tetons are particularly lovely. You also get the added bonus that its the least populous state in the nation.

I was born in Cheyenne. Love Wyoming. Just to damn Cold. Finally made it back and to Jackson Hole a few years ago and clicked this pic of the Tetons in early October. The beauty is unreal. Would love to have a cabin in the mountains above a creek to visit in the summer.

That's a beautiful pic, Jaxx. I'm with you on saying screw the winters. I am going back to Iowa to see my family for the holidays, but I am not sure how much longer I can stay past that. I haven't even been in a heated building in three years. We'll see how I fare.

I can see your point, wouldn't want that either if we had kids. However, after living in Virginia for 13 years I wouldn't want to move anywhere else. It's such a great state, trees are all around unlike the Midwest. We have mountains just like Colorado, but they aren't a fraction as good. I went to Summer school in college to CU Boulder and it was great. Loved the mountains, climbing the flatirons, the trails, and the weekend trips to Denver, Estes Park, Colorado Springs, etc. However, Virginia has better stuff in my opinion - Monticello, Civil War sites, Shenandoah, Luray Mountains, Virginia Beach, Jamestown, etc.

Just my two cents....
