In fact, their is a county in Muncie Indiana, home of Ball State that has a place called The Hold em House, and I mean its right next to a bar and it says it in big ass neon green letters! An ex prosecutor sued the county somehow because under Indiana gaming law it says blah, blah, blah, EXCLUDING GAMES OF SKILL, which apparently they meant for golf tournaments but anyway he sued that poker is a game of skill not a game of chance and he WON. So in that county and that county only it is legal!! Im sure they will be getting very busy!

Cause our fukked up govenor will never allow legalized gambling in marion county except for horse racing and lottery, because he has morals. But I find it funny where he places all the riverboats so he can suck all the blood outta of the close big cities, let's see Cincinnati, Lousivlle and let's not forget Chicago. I can't stand this hyprocrite and I hope he gets busted in that ipalco scandal.

Clint You might find this interesting.Several of my golfing friends retired from various jobs in law enforcement--and 99% of time they had to raid bookies-card games-machines ect it was because someone (in most instances the big losers or their wife) that called in and filed complaint. Otherwise they know there will always be gambling and unless someone is breaking legs or running large ring they do not actively seek out small timers.

hmm, I almost thought about heading over there last night, guess that would not have been a good idea.

I would expect IPC and South Side to get raided also.

Like agent said, just too many people coming and going, and too much advertising.

I almost wonder why they didn't wait until later in the day to raid the place. Probably because it was just easier to get the one guy.

The guy freely advertised his game and address on a yahoo group. He even posted Friday A.M. about a 15/30 game.

Update from one of the other poker places in Indy:

For the protection of all of our members we have decided to close for a few days so that we may talk to the authorities in light of the recent comments made by the Marion County Sheriffs Dept. We have already spoken to IPD and the Marion County Prosecutors office and feel everything is fine on their end however we have not yet spoken to the Sheriffs dept. We feel it is better to be proactive rather than reactive and believe everything should be back to normal on Tuesday or Thursday at the latest. We will be keeping everyone informed via email and this Yahoo group so be sure to check back often. We are looking forward to sitting around the tables with all of you very soon.

LOL I got the same email today, this is the worst abuser in the whole city about letting young kids in, anybody can walk up to their door saying I wanna play poker, cmon in, bring ur buddy also. This should have been the group raided not the smaller outfits, hell several nites they have 100 people in there playing and 2 whole warehouse parking lots filled up, how obvious is that. LOL!!!

I just hate to see them raiding these games that usually only has 20 or so people playing and it looks like that is what they are getting ready to do.

Police Bust Gambling House
Feb 24, 2006, 11:15 PM EST Police Raid Gambling Operation

The cover is blown on a gambling operation on the south west side that may involve teenagers. Authorities say they don't plan to make an arrest, but they're out to get answers.

Investigators were tipped off, after an anonymous letter came into the sheriff's department earlier Friday, and from the looks of things, authorities moved quickly.

They did take one man into custody, but only to question him, and then release him.

Undercover investigators rolled out several poker tables, emptying out a chunk of the building. The Covert Operations Section of the Marion County Sheriff's Department received a tip about illegal gambling there.

When the first investigator arriived, only one man was inside, authorities say, preparing for a big event.

"Could we come inside, and he said sure," said Lt. Bill Lorah of the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Lorah says he was secretive at first and shut the door behind him, but then turned very cooperative.

Investigators packed the truck with poker tables, chairs, television sets, everything inside, hoping to find any evidence linking them to others involved.

Investigators are worried that young adults, possibly teenagers, are involved. "When you have younger adults spending money that's been saved for college, or you have children that don't have milk money or diaper money because mom or dad are coming here and gambling the money or losing the money, that's a big concern," says Captain Chris Heffner of the Marion County Sheriff's Department.

Ruth Plant works within view of the so-called gambling house. "I mean this is a business community and everyone is just running their business day to day," Plant says.

Investigators found drawing boards inside, stacks of cards, and flyers indicating big gambling events happen here.

"I think it kind of brings on a seedy side of activities and we certainly don't want that here," Plant says, "And when I think of young people involved it really bothers me."

Investigators say the suspect was preparing for a 6:00 gambling party. The raid was at 4.

They confiscated grease boards that indicate pay-offs and pay-outs.

At this point the suspect is facing felony charges of promoting professional gambling in Indiana. But several more could come out.

You may remember 24 Hour News 8 looked into teen poker parties back in November. At that time, we found that problem gambling experts say 80% of young players will never have a gambling problem, 15% may develop some issues, and 5% will become addicted.

These guys seem to be so full of themselves also more than the other place that was raided. I never got the same vibe there as I did playing over on the west side.

Wonder about the other two places that were running tournies along with Bob.

Probably see quite a few home games come up now, but now on the boards.

Well, we've only been closed for one day and already the rumor mill is churning out tall tales. So for the record hear you go.

We were NOT raided.
No we are not closed for good.

We did not get shut down nor were we asked to shut down.

We CHOSE to close until such time that we can guarantee you a safe place to play. Hopefull this will be accompished this week. Please do us and all of the members a favor and if you didn't read about it here or hear it from us don't spread information that is not 100% accurate... it just creates problems and doesn't do anyone any good.

Thank you,

Jeff and Ryan

I just don't understand how other places are not going to be raided. If they go after one, why not go after them all.

I doubt Bob is telling them direct places, but the info the got from his place had to have phone numbers and locations of at least two other rooms.

Get a grip, they know about all the games and have known since day 1. They go through the parking lots all the time and write down license plate numbers. The fact is they DONT CARE until someone complains and forces them to care. Do you really think they just found out about Bobs? Do you really think they dont know about all the other games? Shit I walked into IPC one night and there were THREE off duty cops in the tournament! :com: Everything will be back to normal very soon, quit worrying about it. If they were so up in arms about it why didnt they raid Bob DURING a game instead of at 4:00 in the afternoon? Cause that would be too much work for the fat ****s thats why. Fukcing hypocrit muther fukcers! :fingerc:

I am sure they do know about the other games and they have known about Bob's. I could tell by the interview the guy gave that he didn't want to do this.

Wonder how anoymous this really was?

Its all politically motivated. Think about it, why didnt they bust him at 8:00 when the place was full of people , especially teenagers as they put it? BECAUSE they wanted to break in with their "breaking story" and show how their crack undercover work exposed this place as if every fukcing body didnt know about it already, and they wanted to make SURE it was on the 6:00 news where everyone would see it. Its a crock of shit, glamourize it every 20 minutes on about 30 different channels with these poker shows, sell books left and right, sell Texas Hold em lotto tickets, and THEN turn around and arrest pople for it???????????????????????? Meanwhile I have played so much poker with cops and judges and blah blah blah blah blah

The riverboats were all in place LONG before Daniels took office. And to my knowledge nobody has proposed any legal gambling in Marion County. It would have to go through the House and Senate before he could veto anything... if he would even veto. You might think he's a hyprocrite, but you can't say chit about Daniels and where the riverboats are located.

You are right about the riverboats already being in place. But ur absolutely wrong about riverboat in marion county. That is what the mayor was trying to get through to help pay for the stadium, and ole Mitchy was completely against it. But he will help u raise ur barn.

My Man Mitch is only trying to clean up the mess left to him by the previous administration. O'Bannon and Kernan sure blew through the nice nest egg that Evan left the state with when he left office.

And let's be realistic, they couldn't build a riverboat big enough in downtown Indy for all of us gambling degenerates in Marion and the surrounding counties.
