This was taken from the NFL Weekly Match Up Forum. I wish some of you would visit us in there sometimes. Come in there and write something up. Thanking you in advance....

So that brings us to this :

TITFD PLAY OF THE YEAR - GOY 2003 !

"Even so, Green Bay has never lost a home playoff game, Favre is 35-0 in cold-weather starts at home and the Packers are the only team that didn't lose at home in the regular season. "

Dont you think its about time for this string to be broken ? Come on, never lost a home playoff game, never !

The Nevers will lead us to the promised land !

Favre is 35-0 and never lost.... Never!

The Packers are the only home team that never lost in the regular season this season. Never !

It just sounds like fate to me. We cannot fear fate. We must embrace the fate. In this game I just have a strong feeling that the fate is in the nevers.

We also will have to pick the luck. When picking the luck you have to really focus. Picking a team that will have the luck in the game is not easy. But we must. It gives us the edge we are looking for.

The luck fills a need that we have in capping this game, and the luck makes the nevers even more important.

The never's are slapping us in the face in this game.

The question is will we listen ?

GOY 2003

I am thinking these Falcons are going to cover this game and shock the world and win.

You see over the years the Falcons lose all the games they should win, and win all the games they don't have no business in.

...lets look closer.

#1 . They have nothing to lose and no chance to win.

#2 They played well 9-8-02 against GB in GB.
Green Bay 37 Falcons 34 . O/U was 42.5 and easily went over.

#3 Everyone and his mama will be on Green Bay.

#4 Bahama Mama needs this game for a five team parlay.
da bears

#5 On Sept 15 New Orleans beat GB 35-20
Falcons beat NO both times this season.

#6 The Falcons are getting +6.5 points.

...did i call the Cleveland game right ? I hate that I know these pathetic Falcons so well.

Hi Scott, just like to give you my take on this game. We all know about G.B at home in cold weather etc, and Atlanta being a dome team playing in the frozen tundra, that backed into the playoffs off a loss by the way. But lets look a little deeper. Green Bay won 12 games this year 5 of which came against the 3 other teams in their division who had a total of 13 wins between them. By far the worst Div. in foot. IMO.Atlanta on the other hand had 9 wins in a division where the other three teams had 28 wins between them. Now lets look at all their opponents for the year. G.B.`s opps had a total of 115 wins. Atl.`s opps. a total of 126 wins. Just on strength of sched. alone I find it tough to give 6.5 points and take G.B. yet I find it hard to take Atlanta at the same time. I`ll watch but I do believe if G.B. wins it will be their last win of this playoff.

Good luck all whoever you choose,

Skan - nice name there .

you bring up alot of good points. This game I been waiting for. I found a term in a glossary the other day that defined a

Sports Wager - A person who waits for that one big play, when everything is right with the world.

I was just glad to find something that said what I am. I feel better now.

All you have to do is this :

SLAM IT DOWN AND I MEAN HARD!

Scott, my friend.

I find 99% of the time, the transitive property (If A > B, and B > C, then A > C) does not apply in sports.

But, hey...there's that 1%.

Good luck and thanks for posting.

Scott,

I like your enthusiasm, but fear a little bit of the "homer" syndrom here.
Green Bay is by far the superior team here. Vick is awesome, no doubt about it, but he has not played all that well of late. You know what they say about teams "peaking" at the right time of the year. I do not feel that Atlanta is in the peak mode. They lost 3 of their final 4, with the win being a home victory over the sorry Lions. Before that 4 game stint, they were on a tear going 7-0-1, in the middle part of the season. (and against strong teams I might add) But they failed to finish the season strong, and eeked into the playoffs.
Could Vick play Joe Namath for the day and pull the upset? Hell yes he could. But will Favre continue his remarkable record at home, in the playoffs? Very well could as well.
Being from Wisconsin, I had to take a deep look at this game, to overcome the "homer" syndrom. I told myself before the line came out that if it was under a touch, I was going to hit the Pack.
It did, and I took it at 6-, but small.
In any case, it is playoff time. There are good games to take, and good games to watch. When you throw "your" team into the mix, it makes capping just a bit more difficult, but can be done.

"GOY", ...I'm not sure about that.
"Slam it down HARD",... I wouldn't suggest that either.

But this is our board, and our place to share info., stats., and even beliefs.

Good Luck to you my friend, and enjoy the game.

Scott, I dont post often here, but I have corresponded with Nolan and others at times, but just read your post and your past posts I have read ie: Raiders rams TITFD etc and rams bucs, etc......Not trying to attack you here bud, you are entitled to your opinion and it is your money......Im not criticizing you for picking atlanta, i dont bet much on nfl playoffs id rather focus on small time college hoops, and college football I think more $ to be made, but conversely I just think its flat out wrong and stupid the approach you do.
What kind of advice is that to TITFD, or whatever dumb acronym you wrote there, it sounds like a little kid....The best bet is, work hard day in day out, study the games, hit 55%+ if your good, flat bet, and keep your mouth shut.....Just looks dumb when call things cant miss, bet the ranch, etc etc there is NO such thing, you should have learned from changing your mind 50x on that raiders rams game way back when, and that rams bucs MNF game......Most know, MNF is certainly a time when all the squares bet, and it is not a time to bet heavily on, all the totals fall near vegas', thats why you always hear michaels with the comments.......Anyway, just think it makes you sound like an a$$ in the way you post reccomending betting your savings on any game....Yes, everyone and their mother is on the Pack, but why dont you just post like a human being that you like atlanta for the above reasons, etc..Maybe Im wrong here, or being too picky or whatever, I dont have to read the post If i dont want, just is the 4th-5th time ive seen it.....Many very qualified people I read here day in/day out who post good picks without BS or anything else.....Nonetheless, Im not rooting against you, frankly I dont care either way, Im a Giants fan so Im worried about my team's game......
Good luck to ya man, just voicing my opinion, as we are all entitled to one....Good luck to all as well

Thanks for the info and the warning A-1Capper you homer you !

I made it a point this year to watch this Falcons team closer than usual to pick up tendancies.

I have stayed off most Falcons games and just watched them with a keen eye as to what this team was about. I have also been able to go against them at the right times. In this situation with this kind of attention, they have as good a chance as anyone. Do you remember the game the Falcons had with Minn Vikings where no one gave them the chance ? They preceded on to the Super Bowl from there.

There was alot of dislike for the Falcons here when Rankin Smith owned the team. Arthur Blank the new owner has changed the attitudes. The players want to win for him as a owner.

Dan Reeves is a big negative to me as I dont trust him at all.

Its the nevers that are calling me in my sleep.

I will take the points. Falcons win!

Good luck!

Thanks mike

I am just saying that what I learned last year will carry forward to the new year 2003, and I will not be defeated.

The fate of the game is in the hands of the Falcons. Did I mention this is also my GOY 2003 !

Scott,

This shouldn't be a hard question for you to provide an honest answer to.......

What is your record this year on your TITFD plays in the NFL?

The Packers have been struggling nearly as much as the Falcons.
They went 4-3 down the stretch, barely beating Buffalo (10-0). and that pathetic performance against NY Jets (42-17) loss.

The Packers cant stop the run. Hello

Duckett is healthy now and ready to rumble in his first playoffs.

Favre will be waiting by the space heater watching Vick running through the Green Bay defense all night long.

Favre has 11 interceptions in the past 6 games and may be missing his top receiver in Donald Driver.

Advantage Falcons +6 1/2 points!
