Have to agree with ya KDogg21. Cubbies should be much improved this season. Their bullpen did them in so many times last season it was pathetic. Read where the Cubby relievers only saved 23 games in 48 chances last season......and for anyone that followed baseball last year, I think everyone feels like it seemed like the Cubbies were even worse than that when it came to holding on to their leads!

They took care of that in the offseason picking up Remlinger, Guthrie and Veres and also a better catching duo in Miller and Bako. Just the thought of the moves the team made should help the players stay a little more motivated to win...I mean when the bullpen just can't hold a lead for ya day in and day out, it tends to play on their minds a bit and it's tough to break out of that losing mentality. Keep in mind Alfonseca is out until May, so more than likely, it's gonna be closer by committee.

Question for ya: You know much about this Hee Seop Choi?? Is he gonna be an adequate replacement for McGriff? There's already some "rookie of the year" talk about him. Just wondering your's or any other Cubs fan's thoughts on him. Also Alou's gonna have to stay healthy as they're moving him to bat cleanup to protect Sosa otherwise the offense might be a little on the anemic side as they'd be pitching around Sosa every single at bat.

Good luck this upcoming season

Being a huge White Sox fan, and living in Chicago, I like to also read about the Cubs. Hee Seop Choi is a tad overhyped but a good prospect nonetheless. Since the Cubs traded for Karros, look for a platoon between him and Choi. I would say a .270 15HR 50RBI year for Choi give or take a hit or two. ;)

He had 50 at bats in the bigs in 2002 and hit .180 with 2 homers and 4 RBI's.

Choi probably wont get the numbers that mcgriff had last year, but he might get up there. he seems to be hitting the ball better in spring training. if he doesnt get off to a good start, i would expect karros to platoon over at first too. we'll wait and see though.

Choi has a solid bat. He struggles a bit with the inside pitch and shows most of his power when he can extend. He can handle the fastball and seems to be going to the opposite field with more consistency. He may take a couple weeks to get in a groove and see some constant major league caliber pithers but should settle in. I agree will probably see a platoon situation with karros for the 1st month or so of the season but if all goes well should see Choi at 1st on a regular basis.
