Guess I'll add my two cents worth...

KOSAR, NCU is right on about the money moves and "they" having info we don't. Just like in the the STOCK MARKET, time is MONEY, and timing is everything! IF you have other outs that are slow in moving lines, you CAN in fact get the same numbers that the "smart money" is playing. Having worked for one of these "syndicates", I can ASSURE you, they win a helluva lot more than they lose. WHO cares where the info comes from, or whether or not it's a "lock", you'll win much more than you'll lose following the "wise" guys. The thing to remember is to make the SAME play if possible. IF they like a FAV in Bases at -112, then don't play it unless you get -112 to -118 or whatever LIMIT you set for yourself. In FB, ONLY play if you get the same line on any number pertinent to the outcome, such as 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, etc... and avoid laying the extra half pt to simply make a play. IF other factors make you decide to play -4 when they play -3, it's your call. The thing to remember is like NCU said, if "they" are willing to let thousands of $$ ride on one side, I'd rather be with them, then against them!!

Can't tell you how many times a game was highly touted on one side, usually the favorite dominating the game, only to have the UNDERDOG win big outright! Many factors go into winning a game, motivational, momentum, coaching, etc.. that don't show up in data bases or on computer screens, and it's these variables and intangibles that quite often determine who wins and loses. How many times have you seen ONE key player dominate a game, you're on the OTHER side, and you hear the announcer mention how he found out shortly before kickoff that his dad or mom or brother was in an accident and he dedicated the game to him or her. Makes you sick!! BUT, what if you had gotten wind of that ahead of time, ala the "wise" guy, and had the other side PLUS the points???

Do yourself a favor... watch and see when it comes to SMART MONEY MOVES... they may not go 50-0, but they may keep you OFF a loser or two, or get you ON a winner you might have been hedging on.

Good luck, and thanks for the info NCU!!

Hi Randercity, thanks for the contribution to this interesting subject.

>KOSAR, NCU is right on about the money moves and "they" having info we don't.

I don't remember saying that certain groups don't have information that can be useful. What I asked is, what 'info' does the BOOK have that WE don't have access to. The answer given was: the book has big players playing into them. That's the info?? Not quite.

>Just like in the the STOCK MARKET, time is MONEY, and timing is everything! IF you have other outs that are slow in moving lines, you CAN in fact get the same numbers that the "smart money" is playing.

Yes, timing is everything. However, every single off-shore book is looking at the same exact same screen that we are. Certain locals can be had, but for the most part, trying to get down at the original number is fruitless and at any rate, certainly nothing to count on..

>Having worked for one of these "syndicates", I can ASSURE you, they win a helluva lot more than they lose.

I am well aware that you claim to have you worked for a 'syndicate', because you have mentioned it about 47 times in various posts all over the net. I don't play that little 'name-dropping' game, but I can assure YOU that with very few exceptions, the books are not afraid of the groups plays, per se'. They are afraid of the immense bankroll that is backing them and the ability, through beards..ect that they have to run huge amounts of money through a book. They are afraid of a hot streak at 20-30k a game. The reason the lines move on their limit play and not Joe Schmoes is because Joe Schmoe doesn't have a legion of followers ready to play the same side.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, the groups win some years in some sports. Nowhere near all the time in every sport that they play. Many times they quit in mid-stream because they are losing their ass. However, these losses don't offset the great year that they had x yrs ago that everybody is still talking about.

> you'll win much more than you'll lose following the "wise" guys.

You will lose 'steam jumping' if you can't get the original number, and many times even then.

>The thing to remember is to make the SAME play if possible. IF they like a FAV in Bases at -112, then don't play it unless you get -112 to -118 or whatever LIMIT you set for yourself.

How can you set a limit for yourself, if you don't have the 'smart money' around to hold your hand. If the line goes to -118, it is obviously of no value to the 'smart money' anymore, but there the follower is, playing it because that's his LIMIT. So there he sits at -118, the game goes to -126 and the 'wiseguys' are buying back at +116 while the follower is whiplashed.

> In FB, ONLY play if you get the same line on any number pertinent to the outcome, such as 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, etc... and avoid laying the extra half pt to simply make a play.

So in other words, get the original number. Much easier said than done.

To each their own, I guess. It's just another example of deifying these 'groups'. It just ain't smart.

It's pretty easy to retrofit theories after the game has been played. What if that player had a horrible game? Then it would be, "of course he had a bad game, he was grieving, I wish I would have known that". There is very, very little info out there that anybody with a pulse can't pick up.

And quality, pertinent, accurate 'inside info'? Very rare. This is not what 'groups' rely on to try to win. The few groups that win long-term make a better line on identified games than LVSC, or anybody else. By the time the lines are ironed out, the followers are left with a questionable number.

>Do yourself a favor... watch and see when it comes to SMART MONEY MOVES... they may not go 50-0, but they may keep you OFF a loser or two, or get you ON a winner you might have been hedging on.

Do YOURself a favor, give your mom 15k to strategically spread among 3 or 4 certain screen books on a particular game and watch the screen go black. Smart money?

Or have your gardener pick a game and ask him to lay 15k on it at Olympic. Watch all the little clones change their number after Olympic does. Smart money?

The point being, obviously, that it doesn't take much. The fact is that the followers have no idea who they're following.

>Good luck, and thanks for the info NCU!!

Good luck to you also, and thanks for stopping by.

Well, just feeling bad because i havent write a reply on my post (damn college i went to pay my collge fees, and of course also the one of my freshman sister) anyway I cant complain because i keep some of the change. Referring to some posts about line moves, either I stay away from the game or bet the other side (cant forget that MNF i got jets -3.5 and the won by 3 on OT) and guess what? the original line was 3. I can continue telling about how many games i had lost because i bet the public side. Finally I wrote this reply in order to ask this quetion, probably i will need to make it a topic in order for some of the experts here answer it. Do you think that there is, what we called on Mexico, "Mano Negra", i mean that vegas buy some players. Lets say Nash, so he just keep the ball with 20 seconds left and winning by 7 when the line was 8, or in order for him to make a play, score a double and cover the line?. Im putting and NBA example because oh my god sometimes is unbelievable.
Love to see NCU contributions and all the others experts around here.
