Today marks the 75th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's iconic "Luckiest Man" speech, which he delivered on the 4th of July, 1939 at Yankee Stadium. The speech was given just two weeks after announcing his retirement from the game because of his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis, which later became known as "Lou Gehrig's disease."
