Megastar TOM CRUISE and "Dawson's Creek" cutie KATIE HOLMES have sparked a media frenzy in Rome, where the couple were spotted holding hands and dining out this week. The new twosome posed for pictures while Tom joked and responded to questions from the eager paparazzi.
"They have been dating for a couple of weeks," a source close to the couple tells "The Insider."
Tom is in Italy accepting a David di Donatello Award for lifetime achievement, the Italian equivalent of an Oscar. It was there that he was discovered escorting his new young crush around town.
The 42-year-old action hero broke up with actress PEN?LOPE CRUZ in January 2004 and was recently seen leaving a party for 'Collateral' pal JAMIE FOXX with Latin bombshell SOFIA VERGARA.
