No I have no doubt

Worst coach in league

Rode Cower guys to SB win and appearance

Last 3-5 years he has had "his guys" take over.....and they underachieve more than any group in the league....

Coaching decisions and clock management is embarrassing and even some players have acknowledged it

Terrible coach...

Agree! He's no better than a Gary Kubiak or a Andy Reid. Complete average coach nothing special

Sorry but that's absurd. Why didn't cowher win more with cowhers players? His last year went 8-8. Tomlin has been a part of drafts that have possibly drafted the best WR in the league and possibly the best RB when healthy, among many other players recently. Cowher also did not go through salary cap hell like Tomlin had to do during the missed playoff seasons. You talk about underachieving by Tomlin yet praise cowher? I love both both but to say Tomlin sucks because he won with cowhers players is absurd. This is just my opinion but I do feel strongly about it. All I know is, saying Tomlin underachieves, yet praises cowher is laughable to me. Does no one remember cowher losing many big games as a favorite ? Like I said I love both but just feel like Tomlin gets a raw deal here in the city.. The man has never had a losing season, how many teams would love to have a coach that could say that?

I could get flamed on here for saying his because I rarely say anything except in soccer forum, but I do feel the man gets a raw deal locally.

Agree with your post. I'm not a Pitt fan but seems like about 20 plus other franchises would take his results.

not flaming(you`re a solid poster here,imo)...just want to add that "most" solid coaches with long, positive careers are as good as their starting qbs....are there exceptions?....sure,there are exceptions in everything ....we`ll see how good tomlin(and for that matter, the ravens under harbaugh are)when they don`t have consistent franchise qbs playing for them.....neither coach has gone an extended period without solid consistent qb`s.....we may never get to see it,but, that`s my opinion...

I`ll go out on a limb and say that chip Kelly might even be successful with a really consistent qb.....

Although give him credit for helping Big Ben through his early fuck ups. Seemed to have kept the ship steady and the guys seems better for it. I like the guy even when he makes unorthodox moves (like the 2 point play that just made it)

Totally hear ya on that. Steelers under Tomlin have played 21games without Ben and is 12-9 in those.. Some of those losses, I remember very vividly had Dennis freaking Dixon at QB and he should have won those. One was a Sunday night at balty that was lost by 3 in OT.. I could be wrong but I believe most if not every game without Ben has been competitive with a chance to win. That does tell me something.

For sure. I would never take any credit away from cowher. Like I said I love both and both are very different. Cowher more conservative (maybe cost him in some big games but who knows knows) and Tomlin more aggressive.

I`m not bashing tomlin...just saying that when you compare Roethlisberger vs some of the shite that cowher was forced to coach(Maddox, kordell stewart, tomczak, neil O'Donnell),it`s not really close.....for a number of years, cowher did incredible things with some real crap playing qb...

could tomlin do that for an extended period of time?....we may never know...

I def agree with this. Though, Neil O'Donnel was very very solid in 94/95 in my opinion. Kordell has a few decent years as well but I agree with your point for sure

Cowher was great. Wish he would have come back with someone else. This thread started with Tomlin being worse coach in league. Pitt is lucky to have 3 solid head coaches in a row spanning like 40 years.

I like Tomlin. He has big balls unlike Chargers Coach McCoy (not to turn this into a Charger thing) but I would love to have a ballsy coach like Tomlin even if things don't always go his way.

Correct. I still want a link that shows players saying Tomlin management and such has been terrible as was stated in original post . If I missed that I'd like to see it and read it

I would love to see the list of coaches in order that are rated 31,30,29,28,27 etc by the OP. Just to see who Tomlin is directly behind. I mean no coach is perfect and Tomlin is no difference, but worst coach in league is a huge statement To make I believe.
