it seems like somebody is pissed off bc tubby was fired.

if you look at the last 10 yrs... how many SEC championships have we won?

i'm not mad, at all...

coach is a buddy of mine as is others and just trust me but he wanted to get away as did the AU folks of him

lots of things have happened to him outside of football

the man will get another shot, real soon and somebody will be lucky to get him and he will retire there

it was time for us as a program to move on and vice versa....he built a great program and we will be better because of him

AUBURN - Auburn's search for a new football coach could take the Tigers to familiar grounds.

Auburn, which hired Tommy Tuberville away from Ole Miss in 1999, has shown an interest in current Rebels head coach Houston Nutt. The Tigers are also interested in Florida State offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher, a former Auburn assistant coach.

Multiple sources have indicated Auburn is considering Nutt and Fisher. Auburn could name a coach next week. The university accepted Tuberville's resignation Wednesday.

well... who else then?

spurrier would be a damn good recruiter here.

I want an offense like Florida... who can do that for us?

Dont want The red raider, has anyone considered
the rutgers coach wow he has turned the program around again this year from the start of the year terrable to blow out city the last 5 games...
Number 1 for me is someone who has won a national championship that is Butch Davis, then patreno anyone else would be equal or lesser a coach than tubs....
I thank him for building up the program just the program has gotten stagnet...
He would not fire his offensive staff that was his demise.......
The money men want patreno pay the buyout and no competes dont hold up in court so get him in here.....

:director: I WILL SLIT MY WRIST IF NUTT IS THE COACH.....

Looks like AU is in deep shit - Cant find a coach

Meanwhile Miss ST just grabbed Peterson from Boise.

Just look at our 6 conference games:

Alabama - Saban
Georgia - Richt
Miss - Nutt
Miss St - Peterson
Ark - Petrino
LSU - Miles

That is a tough run

May have to scratch Petrino - :SIB :0corn

So Cal
I really liked Tubbs. The guy can coach .

I kinda thought he was in AUB for long run.

IMO I don't think he was the problem.

all those pic 6's really did AUB in this year.

"we" aint picking nobody, the BOT makes the decision...

it's not muschamp, petrino, leach or spurrier so get that crap out of your heads

gill would be a great hire IMO

Just so you know... the BOT's are NOT suipposed to make the decision.

The AD and president make the decision, but we all know how that goes.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The WSFA 12 Sports team has learned that Auburn University may be close to offering its head coaching job to South Carolina's Steve Spurrier.

A source in the coaching profession tells us he's hearing strong indications that point to Spurrier as the Tigers' top choice.

Meanwhile, interviews continue in Auburn. Thursday saw Texas Christian's Gary Patterson interview for the job.

Patterson has been the head coach at T-C-U since 2000 when he was promoted from defensive coordinator on Dennis Franchione's departure to Alabama.

Patterson's had 5 10-win seasons in the past seven years including a 10-2 record in 2008.

Patterson is the the 7th coaching candidate Auburn is known to have interviewed.

WSFA 12 News will have more information as it becomes available

There is now a report from a Mobile TV station that Muschamp will be named HC sometime today.

I live in the Auburn area and the rumors around here flying around everywhere. People seem to think that with all of the no-names they have been interviewing that there is some big-name hire coming out of the blue.

Also heard Muschamp is the man. There goes the "head coach in waiting" title.:142smilie Probably figured he would be "waiting" for too long.

From this morning:

Muschamp just issued the following statement ...

"I have not interviewed for any jobs. I'm not interested in any jobs. I'm happy here, my family loves Austin and I'm going to be at Texas."
