I'm with you all the way................I need the Cab or Shiraz to be big.:0074

Can't go wrong with a good pinot either. I think dollar for dollar you can get a very high quality pinot at a cheaper buy-in compared with an equal quality cab.

I am disappointed more times than not while dining out. I prepare foods far better than most restaurants and for a lot less money. Damn shame.........

I can make the basic American stuff at home Excellent steaks..but i am not goinjg to take the time to learn to make all the ethnic cuisines i enjoy. Also its time spent ..I do what i do very well . So to have some one else thats professional at what they do is extremely cost and time effective. I have a Swiss school trained chef do 2 meals per visit when i am in Puerto Rico at my winter digs. If you have simple tastes you can cook at home..If you want the exotic and are a foodie...its next to impossible to duplicate at home. Example : Some of the best BBQ ribs are made down south. Hell if i'm going to buy a smoker and make 4 5 racks myself./COLOR]

Same here, I wonder if I could help the restaurants out when I go to one and have a decent/good meal for $300+. They get incredible margins in DC and I can cook better than a lot of them in the fancy restaurants. I never complain about the food though, because how would you feel if someone was doing that to you as a chef. Also, with a lot of these I eat for free because of marketing deals my wife sets up with her work. I will complain about shitty service though and it will reflect on the tip, rarely happens though. Some of the real expensive places are either hit or miss. The real, real expensive places are always great but you pay an arm and a leg. End of rant!
