It's always fun to hear people's impressions on the show. BDB's thread is nowhere to be found, so I started one for tonite...

Hailey was hot as always - but poor reviews on the singing...

Blake was great again - as we Jordin. Even Sanjaih (sp) was pretty good.

So, what do you guys think? Who goes this week?

My guess - Lakisha! Her singing wasn't up to par tonite, her dancing was bad (Simon was right on here) and I thought she didn't look very good....

But she has her fans, so who knows? Hailey is the other possibility this week I would think - she always gets slammed by the judges and that does influence people (except Sanjaya voters)...

What do you guys think?

Had to record it...about halfway through and these have to be the worst performances I have ever seen. Haley didnt even look all that great. Must have been that 9th coat of makeup.

I didn't see the whole show. I caught Sanjaya at the end. I thought the kid did okay. From just watching the clips at the end I thought that Chris R kid stunk and the bald guy sounded pretty bad. Not sure why the judges are so tough on Haley and give nasel sounding guys like Chris R praise.

Sanjaya or Phil.

Phil looks like a shaved rat with the big ears! Upper range is good, but the rest is painful.

Sanjaya didn't sing a word in English! Nice approach if it was Latina Idol.

In general what a bunch of misfits, worst season I have been forced to watch (wife) Thank god for House!

First of all, it was teh worst decision that Idol has ever made to make them do Latin Music. Are you kidding me??????????What are there like 15 songs other than La Bamba that any English speaking person would even know? C'mon, you gotta be joking. Then, you don't even have someone that can sing on there to tell them what to do. Don't get me wrong, she makes tons of money, and she can dance. But did you ever wonder why she NEVER performs live??????????? That show was a complete joke..............And by the way, Phil has to go, and he must take his stupid hats with him!

Thought they were rough on her again and didnt think she was that bad. She did look like a clown tho. What a mess of a makeup job. Lakisha and that blubber pouring out of her dress was a little tough to take. This Jordan girl to me is the best. I can at least look at her.

Peformance-wise, I'd have to narrow it down to Haley or Phil going home (but I've said that for 3 weeks now, and have forgotten about Sanjaya). I thought Haley was awful - she is so fake IMO, and although Phil tries and has some moments, he just doesn't wow anyone ever. I'll stick to those two to go home tonight.

I thought Blake was terrific - again. He would get my money as the winner right now. That kid flat out "gets it"...everything he does is interesting, hip, and he sings better than I thought he did. I liked Chris again this week, but no way he beats out Blake head to head. Jordin remains unique and may just be a finalist. Melinda is the best talent, but continues to do boring songs. Lakisha cannot beat out Melinda (or Jordin), so should be on tap to go home before long.

My money, Blake vs. Jordin in the final. I heard this AM on Stern that Sanjaya was the #5 most called number, so his support won't withstand all the way to the end, I don't think, as the real voters will have fewer choices to divide votes.

I'll pick Haley to go home tonight, sadly. She was not sexy last night, and that's the only hope she has. She looked like a bad lounge act to me.

Chad i think we think she is sexy because that is all we have to look at right now. She did look a little rough last night and if the 17 year old could only lose some weight she might be something. She looks 25 and makes a few cute faces. Abnother thing i think J Lo gets a raw deal a lot of times. Everytime i see her on Letterman or Leno she seems like the sweetest person on earth. Again last night i had that opinion of her.

I think your help may be on the money. Lakisha is -600 to go home at my book and the next closest is Jordin at +375. Why do they even offter these wagers if so many people clearly get the leaked information and then bet on the person about to be booted?

I liked the way Seacrest implied that it was surprising that Lakisha was safe....

The producers know what the talk is amongst these guys that try to "handicap" this show.....and they sometimes play to it.

It was laughable that people bet Lakisha up to -600. LOL

Adios Haley.........

She isnt good but good grief how does Phil stick around week after week....

Maybe with his ears he somehow can send satellight signals thru the phone lines. I can't even look at that kid and forget it if he takes off the hat.

Well, the American male loses again. I can't see any reason to watch this show now that Haley is gone. What do we have for choices as our idol? Another disgrace.

I think I'll start capping this...hit it again, dangit. But to say there are no choices for the Idol I think is coming up a little short. I think Blake could be the epitome of the American Idol, a really smart, talented kid with pizzazz and style - he might be the best one they ever turn out overall, if he wins. Although I don't think Chris is terrific, he has charisma and can sing (in a nasally way, of course), but could be a poor woman's Timberlake. And can't you just see Jordin after three months of hard work, hitting the scene as a slimmed-down, great singing pop star that could do any number of things? In many ways, Melinda is the most polished talent Idol has shown, and probably would make a good record, but would not be a great Idol.

I agree that this is overall a group with little to offer, but a few of these kids are pretty good.

She's got legs _ and she knew how to use them.

But Wednesday night, the magic finally ran out for Haley Scarnato on "American Idol."

(Yes, that means the Sanjaya phenomenon continues.)

The departure of Scarnato, 24, of San Antonio, trimmed the number of finalists to seven. The winner will be chosen in May.

Simon Cowell suggested on Tuesday's program that Scarnato was using her curve-hugging, leg-baring attire as a "tactic" to stay in the competition.

"I'm not gonna wear anything ... that's completely inappropriate," a jeans-clad Scarnato countered Wednesday.

Phil Stacey and Chris Richardson had the next-lowest vote tallies in the phone balloting, which drew more than 35 million calls and text messages.

Stacey, 29, of Jacksonville, Fla., earned mixed reviews on Tuesday for his performance of "Maria Maria," which Cowell derided as flat and unoriginal.

Cowell, however, complimented Richardson, 22, of Chesapeake, Va., for putting a contemporary spin on the Latin-flavored song "Smooth."

Wednesday's program featured performances by rapper Akon and the glamorous Jennifer Lopez, who doled out valuable advice as guest coach.

"I guess I come from the Paula (Abdul) school of criticism. ... Not that we don't need our Simon," Lopez told Ryan Seacrest, who asked for her reaction to the judges' critiques of the finalists.

In its sixth season, "American Idol" continues to rule the ratings. It has attracted 26 million to 37 million viewers per telecast this season.
