All championship teams and ALL # 1 teams have down days. :0003

These are college kids with pussy and parties on their minds. Add a little ego as the season unfolds and Focus slips from time to time.

In truth, I miss the old days when there was a "Mythical National Champion". These computer and voting schemes are not solving anything. Now everyone banters for adding teams and different systems. Sports is all about chirping for a year. The winner gets to strut around and fans get to chirp.

Everyone (leagues, media, fans) have an agenda tucked away for "their plan".

Just sit back and enjoy the show and opportunities. Getting worked up ain't going to change it.

Well put smax and good discussion guys. Got into a discussion with some of my fellow Michigan state fans before the Iowa/husker game. Most were pulling for Iowa so state could play (beat) an unbeaten. I feel it's best to move up the rankings when you can especially given Iowas SOS. Also not give an over achieving team like Iowa any more confidence. I can see them giving MSU a game. Should be an interesting finish.

It's gonna be great watching the fan boys have heart attacks when Iowa wins the "national championship" next month.....:mj07:

Smax, yeah, totally agree with what you're saying. I turn into a broken record every year b/c there are no right or wrong answers.

Even as most everyone agrees that Clemson and Alabama "deserve" to be in (if they win out)....at the same time...Clemson is unbeaten in a mediocre conference and a horrible non-conference resume. The one decent team they played non-conf...if ND doesn't go for 2 like idiots, the score is tied.

Alabama has a loss and also has a really bad non-conference schedule. The SEC is great but even I'm starting to say how over-rated year after year as they get the benefit of the doubt over and over.

That's why I say....let the 5 power conference champions each have an automatic bid and then have 3 at-large bids. Might still be a little drama but at least for teams in the Power 5, you control your own destiny.
