Top 6 things Republicans consider more important than job creation

Is this liberal comedy hour

We go from dissing rebs on job creation to unprovoked wars--in current environment

Yes, this thread has certainly taken a lot of turns away from the original point, which STILL only has one conservative-leaning respondent who admits republicans have not done anything about job creation - which is what they campaigned on and said was their main focus.

Of course, I didn't EXPECT anything different. It's apparently easier to blame , say, Obama for not turning around the economy in his first month as President (when he campaigned on several issues) as was done here and elsewhere, as it is to admit the other side has done nothing on job creation alone in three months (when they made that the main focus of the new majority).

Carry on. :0074

ssd, I wanted to say I appreciate your posts here in this forum. It's nice to see someone that pretty much deals with issues and explains their views in a pretty controlled way and leaves the personal crap out of it. Not nearly enough of that. We obviously don't agree on a lot of things, but I find I learn more and re-evaluate my thinking when others present opposing views in a sensible manner. This Libya thing might be a good example of me turning around my thinking after reading and listening to the full picture.

There are others, of course, just have never given you any props as I recall.

Exactly.....

Blame the guy at the top, doesn't really matter who it is Chad.

If a Professional Baseball Team sucks, you can't fire the team, the manager goes. Of course a few trades are made. Maybe the GM goes midseason. But you can't fire the owner, unless it is Marge Schott.... :mj07:

I wasn't on this board during GW's years, but I shit hammered that buffoon as well.

On 9/11, I was angry, I am sure like a majority of the nation, I even considered going back in, again.... :nono: Good thing I got drunk for 3 days and came to my senses and made the right choice. For myself ! I knew where this DOTFA was going, but it certainly has gone on alot further than I had anticipated and taken more turns for the worse.

No one in DC has done shit for Jobs !

Bushy, Nancy, Harry, Barry, Boner ! Not one of these turds !

Well Dick has kept his Blackwater and Haliburton Criminals employed. :0003

I wouldn't go that far TU

There are those who are extremely motivated and hardcore who do enlist for several reasons.

A) NO JOBS !

B) Believe in the cause, 10 years ago, ok... Now, I don't buy it ! What cause?

I inprocessed the day after Ronny bombed Libya.

What normally would have taken 3-5 hours took 13 fucking hours !

That date was not by design, it just ended up that way. FUCK what a long day ! :0corn :0corn

That is a dumb excuse. Go to school and get an education. Letting the government use you by putting your life at risk for these BS wars is not necessary.

But why would you call someone "fucking insane"

I know this is not exactly a clinical diagnosis...

but you can't call every individual that or make an assement on a persons reason for joining and or re-upping.

Yes,

in the the short/long run, depending on your MOS, how long your expected life span is on the battle field as Uncle Slam/Scam/Scum.... uses and abuses the troopers through stop losses, experimential vaccinations, what? No, our government would never do that, would they? Then the rehabbing of a shell shocked, scatter brained 19 year old ! Uh huh... Uncle Sugar prescribes a stop smoking med that creates suicide/homicide machines on the streets. Uhh. blame it Merck, Pfiizer, not our fault !

I never took that Chantix shit because I saw and read what was happening, but the VA had me on some other shit for my migraines that they had MIS DIAGNOSED, no shit ! Really ! That had me so fucking stoned and Zombified it took me 6 months to fully get off of it.

Back to the original issue,
let's not call a kid insane for whatever their reasons maybe for fighting for whatever it is we are now fighting for.

Maybe call them misguided?

Yeah,

Leave the "Gun Lumicy" to me,

right Trench ? :toast: :0008

Although... TF himself enjoys the kick of a shotgun against his shoulder as well. :)
Lumi, I have no idea whether you fit the profile of a gun loon but I'm more than willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. I know you like guns but that in itself doesn't make someone a gun loon. I love the craftsmanship that goes into well made sporting guns and there's no place I'd rather be in the gloaming of a fall afternoon, than 20 yards behind a bird dog with a nice double-gun in my hands. But that's just me.

This is what our government doesn't like to admit. That our military is essentially a jobs program, as is the entire defense industry. The problem is the return on investment that we spend funding our war machine is extremely low. Defense contractors get rich, lobbyists take their cut and Joe Taxpayer takes it up the arse. Meanwhile the guy who enlisted because he wanted to serve his country, comes home in a body-bag or to get fitted for prostetic limbs.

I'm not an economist but I could devise a better jobs program while I'm dropping a deuce. :0003

How do I follow up that?

Except I snap off 2-3 growlers a day, now that's a stimulus package :SIB

I'd like to go on record stating how relieved I am that Congress had the intestinal fortitude to finally defund NPR while continuing to fund military expenditures the Pentagon and D.O.D. don't even want. The numbers clearly show a sound fiscal plan for balancing the federal budget moving forward...

1. Vote to defund NPR and save taxpayers $7.8 million (that's million with an 'm').

2. Vote to continue funding General Electric for the development of an F-35 engine the Pentagon and D.O.D. have been saying they don't want or need for the past 10 years. The F-35 already has an engine developed by Pratt-Whitney. Cost to the taxpayers so far - $3 billion (that's billion with a 'b'). Stay tuned. ;)

It's good to see that at long last, the Republicans have finally restored fiscal responsibility to Congress. As a matter of fact, with that kind of sound fiscal policy, I'm predicting a balanced budget about the time Captain Kirk and the crew of the Starship Enterprise return from their five year mission to explore strange new worlds.

Just amazes me me how much grey matter we have on our side and how much fecal matter on the other.
As usual............good point.

"Libya: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Odyssey Dawn.
Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out oil reserves
and plunder the natural resources of new civilizations, to boldly go where no
neocon has gone before."

It is about 10000 on my list of things to do but u asshats fall for this shit over and over again like it should be one of the country's top priority's.
