My favorite movie of all time is GLADIATOR, can't believe no one else listed it.

I agree with several others that are already listed, but had to throw Gladiator into the mix.

Well I can't flame on Dirty Diapers because his Top 20 is his own personal choice and not movies he thinks are the best in everyone else's eyes so to each his own.
I liked Godfather 1 and 2 alot and respect the hell out of it but it just is not really a movie I want to see over and over so not sure it makes my Top 20 because of that. My Top 20 consists of movies I would not mind popping in just about any day of the week and I kind of have to be in a certain mood for Godfather.

I could watch Rounders or The Departed more than wanting to sit down and watch The Godfather. It doesn't mean they are better all around films so much as preference.

well

there's a HUGE difference between favorite movies of all time and best movies of all time

rounders-usual suspects-stripes-hoosiers-shawshank redemption-vacation-caddyshack

all are classic, cant turn the channel movies even though i've seen them hunderds of times

but

other than maybe shawshank redemtion, none are really close top 20 movies of all time

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Silence of the Lambs

Sorry, but Jaws and Rocky need to be on the list too.

Raging Bull

I think Deliverence needs to be on the list too.

Godfather I and II and Goodfellas are definitely my top 3.

Yes! Silence of the Lambs is great!

Jaws is a top 20 for me - Rocky is as well....

Agree with Raging Bull - most people won't though...

Not a deliverance fan.....

Godfather I and II are really one movie and they are the best!!!! LOVE Goodfellas. LOVE IT!!!!!

Best movies , so many opinions

Best movies , so many opinions

We all see things so differently. I look for great movies with great acting, a movie that when you take a moment and really think about it.... Then ask yourself : Who else could play that part as well and how well was the main character supported.

My list of my all time favorites, not in any special order : The top 10 or the top 20 are hard to separate

God Father
God Father part two
Raging Bull
Taxi Driver
The Hustler
Casino
Cool Hand Luke
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Silence Of The Lambs
Patton
Classic = Casablanca
Classic = Ben Hur
Classic = The Ten Commandments
Classic = Key Largo or The African Queen ... a toss up for me
Stop and ask yourself if some pussy like Kevin Costner could play Juda Ben Hur or Moses,I don't think so !!
Men Of Honor
The Long Hot Summer
Good Fellas
Gladiator

Top Westerns

The Searchers
Tombstone , the one with Val Kilmer as Doc
Classic = Shane
True Grit
Unforgiven
The Missouri Breaks, if you've not seen this one then you need to look it up , stars Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson
The Outlaw Josey Wales

A few that I like

Flim Flam Man, with George C Scott
Of Course .... Hard Times , with Charles Bronson

James Stewart movies

Harvey
You Can't Take It With You

I forgot about Cinderella Man great movie... Anybody who doesn't think Kingpin is in the top twenty is on crack. That movie is hilarious... I'm sticking by Along came Polly :shrug:

I just can't believe Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction didn't make your list....and to a lesser extent, The Departed.

My all time favorite movie is True Romance. Haven't heard it mentioned yet.

I love Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction, but the movies I listed are the ones no matter what if they are on TV I will stop and watch. I did like the departed, but I thought it was a little overrated.
