totals players

I am looking for some opinions or data (IE where are you) on this topic. My book offers totals on the first five innings. Now if both teams have average or below average pens, and there are two quality starters or even two decent starters why bother risking going into the late innings or getting to the pen. Today I ha dthe under on the Yanks game for the first 5. I won, but had I played it for the whole game I would have lost. Now I know this is only one game and sometimes it will go against me but to me looking at the total for the first five if I like the total for the game makes sense when playing th eunder. Any thoughts guys????

hope you didn't bet Houston UNDER,.. game over the total first 3 innings .

Truthfully might work better than the whole game under as you say late innings starters tired, pens overworked in the weeks to come etc.


But IF a starter is gonna get rocked seems like to me he often gets rocked in the first inning or two and as we saw yesterday it happens.

With the dilution of pitching and the higher number of errors ( at least it seems that way to me) I will take my shots with the games to go over the total in most all situations where I find the stats, umps, weather, and other situations dictate such probablity.

Simply my two cents worth, G/L in what you do and I will add two words.

Discipline in Money Management and be Flexiable otherwise.

Thanks for the input. I only had one play today, that was the yanks under the first 5 innings. One of the things I have had the biggest problem with is discipline. What I have found for me personally is that the more I play the better chance I have to lose, so for me less is more. However, having said that often it is hard to lay off a game you really like. I usually play each play for the same number of units. When down I don't chase, the time to press if you are going to is when you are up. I get conservative when I am down. Now speaking of pressing, any opinion on the A's total tonight. I am thinking about UNDER 4.5 for the first 5 innings. Thanks and good luck.
