Tough Loss (Kentucky)

I bought Mississippi State to +4', and still lost a bet and a solid parlay on their OT loss. I don't think the game was fixed or anything, but certainly poorly called in OT. A transcendent player like Wall gets the calls on a drive, whether he gets fouled or not. Without any doubt, there was no more contact on his drive at about 1:25 than there was on Mississippi's previous possession... and that's not even to mentioned the massive missed goaltending call by Cousins where the ball clearly hit the backboard before he blocked it.

Damn near the same thing happened last night with Tennessee Tech in DOUBLE OT. I didn't see that game, but I think a +3 handicap with double OT speaks for itself. Gambling is gambling, but two nights in a row is hard to stomach, especially considering the circumstances on a generally successful night (parlays).

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Just had to get that out, and where better than here? Perhaps some other victims of tonight will empathize and/or get some solace from this...

(P.S. - For a welcome laugh, I broke a good 1/3 of a bag of pretzals during overtime chucking them at the TV and the wall. You can imagine some shattering. I've got some cleaning up in the morning. :142smilie )

So it goes though. So it goes. kurby

Peace.

I was there... And I don't care if anyone calls me biased or has an argument... But that by far was the worst officiated game I have ever witnessed in my life... UK was bailed out the whole game... Sure we should have won in regulation but the charge on Bost, the same play called a block on Osby, changed all the momentum

I agree it was bad officiating, but UK dominated State on the boards, you can't give a team like UK that many chances.

I agree with both of you for the most part.

Corley: That play was definitely a game-changer. Rough!

Phenom: You're complete right, but from a capping perspective, if you have a team +4' points and they're tied in regulation, you really shouldn't (or don't deserve to) lose.

Hell Varnado picked up 3 BS fouls in less than 3 mins in the 2nd half... Cousins played the final 6 or 7 mins plus OT without drawing his 5th... Little fishy to me

Regardless of whether Cousins deserved to pick up his 5th somewhere (and I think he probably did), the fact that Miss. St. didn't jam it inside for that sole purpose is no one's fault but their own... and mine I guess, for betting on them. But still...

There was not 1 foul called on UK from 3:00 min left on regulation to the end of OT... That is complete garbage...

I feel your pain Corley but MSU has benefited from poor officiating all season. Varnado has been protected by the officials in most every game. Bost gets away with offensive fouls every night.
How can you complain about a foul not been called on KY in the last 3 minutes when MSU has played 4 halves this year with only 3 fouls been called on them. Yet they lead the s.e.c in defense.
One would think that with the agressive style of defense that MSU plays they would foul allot more, yet they lead the nation in the least fouls call a gainst them.
One of the main reason I had Msu as a play last night was because it seemed to me that the officials swallowed the whistle and let msu play.
After witnessing the Auburn MSU game , how a MSU fan can complain about officiating is beyond me. There was a goal tending in that game close to the end with no call and with 2 seconds left the auburn player bringing up the ball was mugged and no call. AUBURN should have been shooting 1+1 with a second to go.

Where I made my mistake last night in taking MSU on the money line was that I didn't know Johnson was suspended till right before tip off.
I also know and neglected that Ky is always protected by the officials just like Alabama in football.

Corley don't forget the extra point MSU got on the 3PT in the 2nd half, his foot was on the line, and Ref's missed that one.

Well the refs bailed out UK time after time... Wall shoots an airball and the foul isn't called until we have secured the rebound.
