I hated putting my cats down. But after a while you'll realize that it is the best thing you can do considering the circumstances.

Jr11, I feel your pain. I had to put my 11 year old boxer to sleep this last Christmas. He was fine and over nite developed health problems. The next day he was gone. The pain i felt was like no other. It effected my whole family. My son did not sleep or eat hardly anything for days. I ended up taking him to the doctor and he was put on anxiety/ depression pills. I have two cats and they were effected too. They would just mope around the house and lay in spots my dog would lay, that was sad too. I didn't order pizza for weeks, as this was my dogs favorite snack, i just could not do it. It was tough to stir my coffee in the morning, because of the noise, my dog would come running, he knew it was time to go outside. I still find myself doing a pre flight around my car before i leave, to make sure the dog is not laying behind the car. Just everything. The pain is better now, but Valentines day was his birthday and brought it all on again. I would love to get another Boxer, but i'm not sure i want to go thru this again. I find it a real drag mans best friend life span is so short, not fair. Stay strong
