I just signed up for the tough mudder in PA June 1st
was curious if any other madjackers do these sorts of things. If you do, you are invited to join my team.

I did the Warrior Dash last Summer. From what I hear the Tough Mudder is MUCH tougher than the Dash.

Good luck!

I am signed up for that day too. We only have three people on our team so far. Have you ever done a Tough Mudder before? I haven't and am a little nervous- although I do run 5k's so I am in relatively decent shape I would think lol

yea same, we have 3 so far, trying to recruit a couple more

this is my first time doing the tough mudder or any mud run of that type. I have 3 months to train so i think that is enough time to get in good enough shape to survive

If it would be possible would you be interested in combining our teams together? My team is two guys and myself. There is another guy who may join in and bring a few people but nothing has materialized with that yet. Just a thought ~ as they say the bigger the team the better. :D

To prep - the only way to prep for a mud run is really, to run in mud or sand.

If you are in PA, the ground is probably too cold for either of those. I'd recommend getting as many ankle weights as you can, and start strapping them to your legs and run with them on. You'll want to replicate teh feeling of the sinking ground under your feet, the extra resistance of slogging through it and lifting your knees up high.

You're going to look like a spazzy monkey running through the neighborhood hiking your knees up to your chest, but it will pay off for you.

Got approval this morning that I was transferred. They tried to whack me a $30 transfer fee even though it said transferring within the same event on the same day was free. So I emailed tech support and she switched me over and she also has the info on my other teammates and will be switching them also. The few other people we are trying to recruit know not to register for our team but to register under your team so hopefully we can pull a few more in.
