I don't do over unders but a friend of mine usually does well in tournament totals. this may be good info to augment anyone's arsenal, if u bet totals. he gave me rundown of the numbers.

last 3 years

totals closing between 125-129.5 over 36/16
totals set at 124 ' or lower under 12/1

over past 2 years totals set between 150-159 over 5/2

I know he does well but I can't vouch for the veracity of the numbers. after a cursory look back they seem valid.

A couple other system totals:

6-2 = Last two years #1 seed under in the first round

74% = Since 2005 #2 seed under in the first round

6-2 = Last two years #5 seed over in the first round

61% = Since 2005 all games over in the first half in the second round (note 55% of all games over in this same period)

61% = All Elite Eight games over since 2005

I think you can look at these but each year is different--be careful of blindly only leaving it up to these stats. Sometimes things balance out over time. To me it takes a lot of fun out of picking games. gl:0008 :0corn

:0003 Hawk made a great pt to add to this thread!

Also, you have to take into account where are these games being played at? Games in the past were at different regional spots for first round of tourney, 2nd round of tourney etc.

One area of the country where totals typically go under is at Auburn Hills, Michigan and Salt Lake City, but also the total lines posted have something to take into account as was first made into this thread.

Totals at less than 117 1/2, last 4 years, 70% over. Typically teams that are close the last 2 minutes, hack and get their opp to the foul line, which can add pts quickly, one case and last year Montana vs Wisconsin, total opened at 116 went to 118 1/2 back down to 117 and score was 73-49 final to Wisky.

Just one lil tidbit!!
