Jon Heyman reports that the Twins and Yankees have completed a trade that will send Jaime Garcia to New York.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports had reported that a deal was close. Pitching prospects Zach Littell and Dietrich Enns are headed to the Twins in the trade, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Garcia, who made just one start for Minnesota after being acquired from Atlanta, holds a 4.29 ERA over 19 outings this season. The Yankees are still pursuing Sonny Gray even after the addition of Garcia.

Astros acquire lefthander Francisco Liriano from Blue Jays

The Astros added a lefthander to their bullpen Monday by acquiring veteran Francisco Liriano from the Toronto Blue Jays, according to multiple reports.
In the reported deal, the Blue Jays get Astros outfielder Nori Aoki and minor league outfielder Teoscar Hernandez in exchange for Liriano.
Liriano has struggled in a starting role for Toronto this season. The 33-year-old Dominican has a 5.88 ERA in 18 starts. He has only 74 strikeouts but 43 walks in 82 2/3 innings. He's held left-handed hitters to a .615 OPS in 61 at-bats.
A free agent at season's end, Liriano is owed the remainder of his $13.67 million salary for this season. Liriano has some experience pitching out of the bullpen but has spent most his 12-year career as a starter.
