I am looking to buy my wife a treadmill for her birthday. Can anyone give me advice on what is the best brand to purchase? Looking in the $750 - $1,000 range.

something in the $150 range:D.....just kidding...good luck...just cant see spending that kind of money and not getting anywhere unless it has some kind of euphoric affect:D Of course my wedding in Las Vegas cost me more than that and it hasn't gotten me ANYWHERE trust me.....but the thought is noble and quite heart warming. I don't think I ever gave my wife anything that cost that much, except my ex-wife. I gave her a divorce and that cost me $1100, (first wife of course). I don't think I would be nearly this cynical if I was divorced now.

If I get my wife anything it will be a maid that doesn't understand english. That way I can bang on the back door while she is mowing the lawn and shake my empty beer can upside down emphatically and scream as I point to the empty can "It ain't gonna fill itself":D

The best deals I ever seen on treadmills was in the want ads. If you are looking to save some money, and dont mind a scratch or two you should be able to find one reasonably priced, or you can look at :thefinger WAL-MART:thefinger those crooks might have something in that range. :D I hope you don't mind that I don't really like to say(or type) that name.

I like to feel it and get on top of it before I buy it.....okay, enough about that, lets get to treadmills now :) OKay, I got a treadmill, i got mines from sports authority. I like mines because the width of the belt on it is wide, so theres a lot of room just in case if you don't run exactly straight. Also, get one that's sturdy if you weigh a lot. I'd suggest, if you can, look for a store, like sports authority that sells them so you can actually see it in person, that's what i did. I don't like ordering to ship, cause seeing it as a picture in some catalog may not look the same or as big as u thought it is when it comes in the mail. Thats just my suggestion. After a month, you'll be hanging clothes on it anyways. :D

This is IMPORTANT information that not many people know about shopping for Treadmills!!!

It is very important that you bring a coat hanger with you to the store when you are shopping for treadmills. Look closely at each model. You must find a model that the coat hanger will hang from properly. Because ask anyone who owns a treadmill, that after a few weeks, all you'll be using it for is a coat rack!! :D

For your sake I hope she has requested a treadmill for her birthday, because if she hasn't it might be a cold day in Hell before you get any A**.

For the money ProForm at Sears have great motors and a good service plan. If you plan to use it I would buy the service plan, I know no one in thier right mind would buy one of those but for a treadmill that gets used I would highly suggest it.

Bought a real nice one from Sears several years ago. I don't hang clothes on it though, if I did they would get all dusty. Have her go to the neighbors and use theirs for a week and then make your decision. $750-$1000 is a lot to pay for a knick-knack.;)
