Trev, as the name would imply, is a complete moron. The guy makes all these grandiose statements and he is wrong time and time again. Somehow, it has become more important to be as excited and ridiculous as the local used car dealer on a latenight commercial, as opposed to giving sound opinions that prove to be true.

The first time I saw him, he was going on and on about how UCLA would be blown out in a particular game, then UCLA won. I thought, boy that will really tone down his act, but the next week he was right back making wildly inaccurate statement about other games, players, coaches, polls etc etc.

Good luck if you rely on him to help you with plays.

Trev Alberts a complete moron??? That is a moronic statement in my view.

While it can be argued that Trev Alberts is a bit of a Big XII homer, he is way better than that Mark May East Coast Homer. Do you think Trev and Herbstreit and people on this board, for example, go 100-0 on their picks? Trev Alberts is a great addition to the ESPN crew and he will always speak his mind. Is he always right? Nope... is anyone else? Nope. Did he not say this past week that K State would pound Nebraska? Yes. Did K State pound Nebraska, hmmm, I think so. Did he say Oklahoma would beat Texas? I think so. Did he say Miami would beat Tennessee? Sure did. Did he say Ohio State would beat Purdue? Yes. Did he say Oklahoma would lose at A&M? No. Did anyone else on ESPN say Oklahoma would lose at A&M? Nope. Cut him some slack until you can do better.

Plus, he's right about Ohio State. Put that team in the SEC, Big XII, or even the PAC 10 and they'd be 5-5 at best.

If we have to annoint someone on ESPN as a moron, it is clearly Lee Corso!

Hey Skill, I knew I should have qualified my post. I agree with you completely and think everything that comes out of his mouth is nonsense and babble....Merely stating that he cracked me up...

He was also asked who he liked and said that OSU would win ...That made me bump my michigan play up a unit??

Sorry avalanche I have to disagree, I really think he is a complete idiot and speaks from his own personal opinions and doesn't bring alot of factual data in....I think there alot of people on this forum who I would respect more in the same role...

Without regards to the Mich/OSU game I personally find Trev the most annoying guy on espn's saturday cast. Not so much that he is wrong, and he is alot. Mostly the fact he acts like there is no way he is wrong and as soon as someone else says something different he interupts them constantly to give his view. Already have emailed espn a few times begging them to get rid of him but I know that is a futile effort.

Come on, saying that K-St would pound Nebraska and Miami would beat Tennessee wasn't exactly going out on a limb.

Right Crazy Horse. Most of you seem to get what I am saying. They main thing is to temper your shenanigans with a dose of realism, or be right much more often. Is it really necessary to come off as such a blowhard? Excitement and enthusiam is fine but Albert's schtick gives me a headache.

"Cut him some slack until you can do better. "

This is an outstanding point Avalanche, I admit that my TV appearances and picks can be improved. You are a very smart fellow and I can tell there is no way I can match wits with you.:D Trev is clearly the name of a genius.

He also said that Nebraska would beat McNeese State.

ESPN could do a lot better than Trev Alberts. The most uncomfortable moment this year was when he was talking to Mark May regarding Michigan State's coaching situation

"They should definitely look to bringing in some African-American coaches for a look at. We need more of THOSE KIND of people"

Probably the first and last time that I've felt sorry for him. OSU 5-5 if they weren't in the Big 10? ahhh...nevermind

Trev Alberts tries to be controversial to make a name for himself. He was a bust in the NFL and needs to keep his "name" out there as a result. He tries to offer opinions to rile emotions or stir opinions and, basically, that's his job. I truly hope he doesn't actually believe some of the things he says because then he would truly be a moron. He comes across as a "fake" and "wannabe" in my opinion. I think he is about the worst commentator on TV in college football. He thinks people "want" to hear his opinion. I turn the channel when he comes on because he offers nothing to college football in my opinion.

Wow... I was hoping for just a LITTLE support here on Trev Alberts. Granted, it is hard to support any Nebraska graduate from CU land, but I think he's pretty good and certainly better than Mark May.

Mark May says "this is the key" 15 million times in the same "analysis." Well, Mark, which is the key? Stopping the run or red zone points? He gives a million keys. I guess everything is the key.

Howie: Yes I would rather see Hoops or Raymond on ESPN rather than Trev Alberts, Mark May, or Lee Corso!

Skillrules: You know what the N stands for on Nebraska's helmet certainly? ....KNOWLEDGE! I am not putting Alberts at the top of the heap by any means, as I think Herbstreit's the best, but I just don't think he's THAT bad! I do admit that Trev does get a little overly excited and sure of himself in his picks, but so does Mark May. Mark May simply doesn't yell them LOL!

Still looking for some support for Trev Alberts....... .

Waits.....

30-minute latency.....

Ok... well, the mighty Huskers did beat McNeese State by hmmm 10-14 points. Another Cornhusker thrashing.... must've been inspired by Trev the Genius's pronostication? Ok.. that's a reach.

Who all do you think is the best then on ESPN? If I see any dimpled chads for Lee Corso, I am going to puke and call for a recount.

Somewhere in Corn Country
Trev Alberts is a Nebraska alum, but he is from the best state in the Country-- IOWA!!

Go Hawks!

Why do you think he's so high on Iowa? Besides the fact that the Hawks are the best team in the country....;) He has to come home and deal with Grandma if he isn't a huge homer.....

FWIW, he makes me LOL everytime I see him. I'm sure he gets all kind of grief about being a good 'ol Iowa boy from all the "sophisticates" he works with at ESPN.

To all of you that think that all of us here in corn country are all hicks........ You're right. Just don't be stupid enough to say it to our faces.......:thefinger

I think Trev is the second coming of Lee Corso...he's just waiting for the old man to peel over so he can fill his shoes on College Gameday!

Go Hawks!

I agree w/ Avalanche and find Herbstreit the most easy to listen to. I have no problem with Trev being wrong on predictions. Heck isnt Corso wrong every single saturday he makes a prediction to the point the players have openly said, 'please dont pick us to win this week Lee'. My main beef w/ Trev is he smugly lets everyone know his thoughts as if there is no possible way he is wrong. Then when someone else gets a chance to give their view he interupts them w/ reasons why they are wrong.

Right on the money, Gardenweasel.

As for Trev Alberts, he's as clueless as Corso, and nowhere near as entertaining.

They just smiled. He didn't mean anything malicious by it, but he just sounded like such a hillbilly.

Chris Fowler's the one I like on ESPN the most. He doesn't offer opinions on much, but he is sharp.

I used to think Trev was an idiot, til I saw someone with a "Trev Alberts is an Idiot" sign on Gameday. And he responded like this in his ESPN chats. The guy knows the game, and he is fun to watch, no doubt.

---

Katie, Columbus, Ohio: You suck.....

Trev Alberts: So do you.

----

ray(anderson): did you see my sign behind gameday on saturday?.......it read "trev is dumb".

Trev Alberts: I was absolutely honored. I only saw it for a bit .. did they make you take that sign down? Seriously? I thought it was great. We need to take our midnight show on the road. I did see it and I appreciate it. I'm glad you were moved to right that .. that is my job. At least I said something to make you have a reaction.

In closing, if you get a sign ripping me on GameDay, I will respond to your question each week. Get "Trev Alberts is Dumb" on TV and you will get your question answered!

----

Philip patterson (Penn): I held up a sign that said Fire Trev Alberts at Gameday this weekend but it never got on the air, do you think they will fire you after this year?

Trev Alberts: First of all. That's weak! You can't even get it on the air! That's a lack of effort and poor execution! Don't come with this "I didn't get it on the air!" That's making excuses. You are Michigan St. right now!
