s ala +8: think the jaguars are a solid play tonight catching 8 @ home in a season make or break game. sala sits 0-3 in conference play, but they've beaten miss st in starksville, upset a pretty good sdst team in mobile, and should have beaten ark st last week, but 2 to's turned the game around 14 pts. meanwhile troy 6-0, is getting a bit too much credit for playing within a td @ a sometimes unfocused Clemson (as we saw again last weekend), upsetting a defensively flawed so miss in starksville, and running through conference patsies Idaho, nmst, and ga st. and btw, this year's troy team is not that much different than last years and, as I recall, last year they sucked. also an interesting motivational angle at play tonight as troy starting qb Brandon silvers is a local gulf shores boy who was heavily recruited by sala coach jones but snubbed the home town team to go to troy. finally, this game opened @ -8- but has been dropped a half point with about 70% of the tickets coming in on troy. i'll take the motivated conference home dog catching a td+ and see how it works out.
