To hook it up, connect the s-video cable to the s-video port on your laptop. Then the cable to the s-video port on your tv.

Usually you push funtion + f3 or f4 I think to allow the laptop to display on laptop screen, external moniter or both.

Turn the tv channel to AV1 or whatever you plugged it into. It should work

Ok this is what i do,

you have to use S-Video, i believe that is the only connention that is on your video card inside of laptop. when u get s-video connect into laptop and tv.

then on your desktop, right click. go to properties.

then the settings tab. u will see two monitors # 1 #2, 1 will be your desktop, then click on #2 , then check the box that says, "extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" click ok.

now toggle thru your AV channels on your tv. it may be listed as "inputs", until u see your exact desktop background.

Now open a window to watch online video or a dvd in your laptop. Mouse over your window that u can watch on your laptop, and move it to the TV usually to the right. then max it to full size usually f11. now u can watch and play music on tv , and still use your desktop normally.

i hope this helps.

Display settings
Advanced button
Sometimes there are settings in there regarding tv hookup, yah might need to use a "function" shift key with those f4, f5 keys.
