Well the ol' Jayhawks decided to play last night... I'll be damned.

Baylor -10.5 (CU), 110/100
---- Baylor is a weird team. I love their talent... I love their coach... they made me a ton of money last year... but if their perimeter shots arent falling, they will almost never cover. They just arent capable of consistantly getting things going inside.
That said, this CU team is FREAKING AWFUL. And that is an understatement. You have a terrible, lame duck coach (who I have been calling the worst coach in the Big 12 since I started following it regularly), a team full of mediocre players, and one good player. The good player is pissed that he didnt leave for the NBA, and will try to fill up the stat sheet every night. I am not a Roby fan, I think he is selfish.. and I think he is coached by one of the top 10 worst coaches in the country. Patton should thank Chauncey Billups every day before he wakes up. Because Chauncey made him like $5 millon dollars or more. Rant over.

I dont think CU can guard Baylor on the perimter sufficiently. If Baylor gets time, they will kill them all night. Plus, CU doesnt have the one thing that DESTROYS Baylor... which is interior scoring and interior depth. That is why if I keep money in the account throughout the season I will be fading Baylor a lot against teams with strong inside games and playing them against teams that are paper thin, like CU.

Only trepadation with the play is the uncertainty of the outside shot... but Baylor is at home... probably favored by as many points in a Big 12 game as they have been in a LOOONNNNGGG time, and they arent in the positon to look past anyone. I expect them to blast the Buffs.

Absolutely love the pick. I look for Baylor to make some noise in the 2nd half of the Big 12 season. Their remaining schedule is favorable in comparison to who they have already played. If you remember back to last season, Baylor had some nice easy covers at home down the stretch.

Oh, and March 3, 2001 was the last time Baylor was favored by this much in a Big 12 game. They were favored by 11 at home against A&M and won 85-59.

10.5 scares me just a bit. While I do see the Bears winning, I'm having a hard time seeing them cover. Sooner or later Scott Drew has got to get this team winning and not just competing.

Sic 'em Bears !

Thanks for the stat, Mike... I figured it had to be a real long time ago...

I love your boys, Dayad. Truly one of my favorite teams to watch in college basketball... I like that foreign center you guys got too... if he develops, you could really, really have something next year.

Let's hope they can keep it up vs. Iowa State on Saturday.

BTW, good call. :box2:
