these guys have been playin at home and playing well--lost by 6 to tennessee,
whipped both the citadel and college of charleston.
CofC tried to mount a comeback but they squashed it with some 3s
and some steals and lots of rebounds. elon's starting a road trip,
chattanooga's chillin' at home and will be through the end of the year.
i like the mocs to take care of business again and will be on them a lot
through conference play--esp at home.

got a half-point drop from the opening line on chattanooga and i like it. they're playing well (handled the citadel easily, put a fight against tennessee and jumped all over charleston early and didn't allow them to finish their attempt at a comeback. they've been at home for a few games now and will be through winter break and think they will handle elon tonight in mckenzie.

T,
What do you think about St. Boni +11.5 and Marshall +14.5 as dogs to cover?

Good luck today!

fred, st. bonnie was a favorite of mine last year, they made me some $ in certain spots, but this year they've been tough to play. i don't think they will win this game, but i also don't think it will be very high scoring... lookin teens-low 120s, which makes me believe that st. bonny should keep it within a few possessions. if i was to play it it would be a $2-$2.5 play but i'm not playing them tonight, looking to get some more info on them this season and hope they can make some money come conf. play.

marshall... we all know louisville's dire situation, and i didn't believe this line when i saw it--it has dropped 2 from the 17.5pt opening line, which should tell you to get your bit on marshall before it drops more. marshall should know that if they come in fired up and workin hard they can get louisville on their heels with now a short roster and their stars out. i may get $ against louisville before tip, but probably won't post it. won't be better than a $3 play, games like this can be tricky--where you expect a letdown from a banged up team like louisville but if marshall comes in and plays flat or can't buy a bucket in the first half it may turn out that it gets louisville fired up and they play with some passion on their home floor and covers the big number, like they're supposed to, after all, they're louisville.

strike that... adding st. bonnie for tonight. will probably be playing marshall on the side and may throw a unit on the salukis in case they've gotten this train back on track.

Love the input.
Thanks.
I'm making small-med (might even look good in a par) plays on both myself. From just looking at stats both games should be tighter contests than the opening line's would point you to. I don't see double digit wins no matter how I do the math.

Thanks again and good luck!

too many points for me with asu.
lb st/san fran don't like either, can't pick one.

samford's got better D and is at home where they're shooting 49.8%. they'll be fine playing a game in teh 140s like SEMO's gonna want to, but the D will hold the visitors to less points. simple as that.

THIS IS NOT MY WRITEUP BUT ITS USEFUL

When a school gets a new coach and mostly new players it takes awhile before they get comfortable in his system. The biggest improvement is usually sometime during the second season. The amount of improvement is also dependent on how much talent there is on the team. This years SEMO team is easily the most talented team ever to play at SEMO. Last year and early this year the play of the team did not come close to measuring up to the talent on the team. Starting with the first conference game this year against Tenn. St. and then the second against Tenn. Tech. it looks like the light bulb finally came on for SEMO. The players looked MUCH more comfortable playing with each other. The final scores of those games doesn't tell the story of how SEMO really dominated both games. The team I expected to see at the beginning of this year is starting to show up now.

You won't see any one player on SEMO put up big individual numbers like scoring 25-30 points a night. We have several players that could do that if we made them the focas of our team but that's not our style. SEMO will put full court defensive pressure on teams for the whole game. Two of our top players, Brandon Foust and Jaycen Herring, don't even start. In our system it doesn't matter who starts because we have 11 players that avg. between 10.1 and 25.8 min per game. Very seldom will any player get more than 30 min. of playing time. With us playing pressure defense the whole game it lets our players have fresh legs at the end of games and there is very little drop off in talent 1 thru 11. Our defense and rebounding have been much better in these last two games. We still have too many turnovers and need to improve in that area. We have also developed a very strong inside game. I don't see any team in the league beating us in the paint.

Historicly Samford has been a hard team to play the first time around in conference play because they play the Princeton style offense which teams don't see very often. The good thing for SEMO is they've had 10 days to get ready for them. Last year SEMO won by 3 at Samford and lost by 1 at home. Samford isn't as good this year as last and SEMO is MUCH, MUCH better than last year. If SEMO plays like they did in their first two conference games then it doesn't matter what Samford does, they can't win. I know the first two games were at home and this game is on the road. Conference road games are never easy. Last year SEMO actually had a better record on the road than at home in conference games so that makes me feel a little better about that factor. There are 341 teams in D1. SEMO is ranked 6th in adj. tempo. Samford is ranked 340th. I don't expect this game to be played at the pace SEMO would like but I do expect it to be played much faster than Samford would like. One thing SEMO will do is be VERY aggressive going to the basket. They'll force the refs to make calls. This is my biggest bet this year in college hoops.

I think you should have put more machine guns on Kansas. Like this one big also.

ASU should be able to put up 16 or more.

hi tig3rs, have a question about matchbook. Once you place a wager, can you go in and cancel it or change the amount before the game starts? Just curious since you said you were downgrading the samford play, unless you had not placed it yet? Thanks!
