Mavs - 3.5 1st QTR
Mavs -9 IMO the books are begging you to play GS. I will not because teams that are favored to win the series and are down to elimination and on their hm court....will flourish. Dallas by 15

Wow. I think you're reading my mind! :mj07: I look at it the exact same way... line looks like it's begging for GS money and I think a lot of people will take the bait based purely on how GS has played the first 4 games. This is a very tough spot for them though. Mavs in an elimination game at home. Could get ugly real fast. Just look at what Toronto is doing to NJ tonight -- exact same scenario. I also said the other day I think Dallas wins by 14 or 15. Who knows... it may even be more. :SIB

Lets hope our thinking is right. I was reading where Avery is chewing ass and telling them to get their confidence back. Dirk was telling the media how they are cutting off his footwork and he can't drive and get his feet set, Avery jumped on Dirk saying well he better step over them or through them tonight and score. I think they come out and play inspired basketball right from the get go. GL to ya

Your thinking is flawed... GS gets no love and 9 is way to many. You don't think GS has motivation to win it's first playoff series in over 13 years?

They have owned the Mavs all year long and even last year.

GS wins outright. The points are just a bonus.

Didn't last year's champion face elimation at home just a few days ago? I think Avery is being schooled by Nelson.

True enough. The Heat aren't on the same level as the Mavs though. Heat weren't a 1 seed like the Mavs and Wade played injured. Considering they only have 2 players on that team it wasn't a surprise that they lost. At least not to me. I don't deny that Avery is getting outcoached by Nelson. I just can't see GS winning this game considering the situation.

I don't think my thinking is flawed at all. Like I said before, if you look at the line purely based on the first 4 games then I guess you would think it's too high. That seems like awful simplistic thinking though, if you ask me. You don't think Vegas knows what they're doing when they put lines up? As well as GS has played the fact that the line is -9 tells me that Vegas is BEGGING for GS money. They probably expect, like I do, that Dallas will come out and play inspired ball tonight and run away with it. Sure they could lay an egg like Miami did the other day, but I wouldn't bet on it. I don't think this game has anything to do with the first 4 games or x's and o's or anything like that, it's about a team whose season is on the brink playing at home. Maybe they don't answer the bell, but I think they will.

As for GS winning tonight I suppose it's possible. However, the odds of that happening are astronomical. Of course they have an incentive to win and close out the series, but it's almost impossible to match the intensity of a team who is fighting for their lives when you would simply "like" to win and they "have" to win. After all, GS can lose tonight and still be up 3-2 AND get to play game 6 at home. Don't think for a second that isn't in the backs of their minds this whole game.

As I said a couple of days ago, I'd be surprised if Dallas wins by less than 14 or 15.

As I just said in another thread, GS is showing me a lot tonight. It's only halftime but they have the lead down to 7 and not letting Dallas run away with the game. Major props to them.

Let me set the record straight...Miami was down 3-0 and that's tough...but being down 3-1 and playing on ur HM court makes a lot of difference...if u win u put the pressure on the opponents for gm 6...we havent won nothing in this gm yet but lets hope the Mavs hold out.

quag what are you bettting in the second half?

:mj07: Funny. You do know I didn't bet on that A's game, right? I mean, I know I clearly spelled that out in my post but I guess I shouldn't assume you understood it.

Congrats to the Warriors backers. This game certainly didn't play out like I thought. Mavs got up early, as expected, but couldn't sustain the lead and the Warriors gave them everything they could handle. Situational plays in the NBA are definitely getting harder than they used to be. Game 6 will be a great game, no doubt.
