One game so far............

A's+140x3 (Zito/Wells)
Zito, the Yankee killer, last year gave up 2ER in 20IP vs the Yanks, this yr 1ER in 7IP. A's are hitting the snot out of the lefties batting well above .300. Yanks are hitting barely over .200 vs lefties. A's have won 6 of the last 8, and the offense have scored 5 or more runs in 8 of the last 9, outscoring opponents 38-7 in the last 4 days. If you take out Wells's 1st start, he has ERA of 5.4 in the next 4 games, avg 4 runs given up per start. The Yanks just coming off of a tough series with the M's just might be drained enough emotionally to not be able to get up against a hot team with a pitcher on the mound who knows he can beat the Yanks. And at plus return to boot.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Angels+125x2 (Ortiz/Sabathia)
Ortiz, the Angels future staff ace, nicknamed "baby Pedro", has pitched well enough to win all 4 of his starts vs quality opponents, sporting a 2.96 ERA. The Indian bats, who have been struggling offensively, bat terribly vs Ortiz, as no regulars is batting over .250 lifetime against him. Sabathia had 2 good starts giving up 1ER apiece to the lowly Det and KC, but got knocked around by good clubs, giving 8, and 6ER vs Minny and ChiSox and only lasted 4.1 innings in each outing. He also made his 1st start of the year vs the Angels in a losing effort, surrendering 4ER in 5.1 losing 5-7.

Mont/Hou Under9-125x2 (Vazquez/Oswalt)
Vazquez, with the exception of bad outing in NY giving up 6ER in 6IP, has been very good, giving up 2ER or less in his 4 other starts. Oswalt has shown no signs of slowing down, 3-0 on the season with 1.29ERA, very impressive considering 4 of his 5 starts were on the road. His worst outing was in Colorado, only giving up 3ER. In his only start vs Mont last year he threw a 3-hitter complete game, winning 4-1.

Rangers-120x2 (Rogers/Prokopec)
Rogers has been outstanding this year with all his starts vs quality opponents (2 vs Oak, 2 vs Sea, 1 vs Tor), giving up 2ER in 14IP on the road in Oak and Sea. Prokopec is still trying to adjust to the move to AL. Don't see any reason why this should change.

ChiSox+125x2 (Pineiro/Wright)
8-2 home record vs 10-0 road record, something gotta give. I'm encouraged by Wright's last performance on the road vs Clv, who's a better pitcher than his record indicates. ChiSox, after the embarrassing sweep in Oak should be eager to jump back on the winning track. Gonna back the home doggy with the hungrier bats.

GOOD LUCK Tonite!!!

Same to you, Anthony. I like your Pitt pick. Laying off of SF, but no way in hell I'd back Philly after watching their late inning BP collapse last ntie.

Like Oak a lot, almost made it a 4 unit play. But wanted to get back on the winning track before I make bigger plays.

As for laying off of SF:
#1 and most importantly: Fav over 150 (I have no luck betting big favs, WILL PROBABLY JINX THE REST OF THE BOARD)

#2 In limited at bats, SF bat 2-14 vs Padilla, and when he locates his pitches, he has mesmerizing stuff.

#3 Just have a feeling Livan is due to give up a few.

#4 I bleed Dodger blue :D

SF is still a VERY GOOD PLAY, though.

GOOD LUCK, buddy.

It sounds like you are a die hard Dodger fan and in the NHL thread you make it sound like you are a Kings fan. Are you originally from out here in So. Cal?

Hi Jake. Hell yeah, baby. Grew up in Diamond Bar, went to UCI, UCLA for undergrad, eventually to Purdue, and settled down in the midwest. Played high school ball with Jim Edmonds. :D My little brother was on the Varsity team with Van Horn.

Looking to move back to SoCal in a couple of years, though. Miss it dearly. How about you.
