After careful and thoughtful consideration, I'm playing the game this way tonite.
UNDER 8.5 -105 *** TRIPLE PLAY ***
NYY +150 * Single Play *
NYY +1.5 -110 ** DOUBLE PLAY **
BOST -1/2 HR +125 * Single Play *
First of all, as much as I like BOSTON and the way SCHILLING is pitching and the SOX are hitting, this is still the YANKEES! Giving me +150 at YANKEE Stadium is just too much to pass up, even against loud mouth Curt.
Secondly, I'm looking for a very close game here, hence the play on YANKS +1.5 and the UNDER. As far as I can tell, the wind should be coming in from LF and with that much wind, any fly balls should be held up. As noted in GAME 1 UMPS thread, after thouroughly researching MR MARSH, tonite's HP UMP, it appears he widens his zone for top quality pitchers such as MOOSE/SCHILLING. Therefore, with a wider zone, batters will be forced to chase too often and score should be less than normal for both teams.
Taking BOST - 1/2 HR is due to the LH bats BOST brings to the plate and MOOSE gets taken deep alot more than SCHILLING does. Besides, if I am to lose the YANKS and UNDER tonite, it will be do to lots of longballs in my opinion, and this gives me a shot at recouping some loss. I seriously think BOST only gets 2 at most, but NYY may not get any, just timely hits.
** SIDE NOTE **
Marsh seems to widen the zone as the game goes on. His stats show starters with 7 runs average against them and his first three innings average nearly 4.5 runs per game. Seems he is tight at first and then widens it as the game progresses.....
A note for all you first five inning players....
I was tempted to GO OVER, but didn't want to jinx my UNDER play....
Good luck tonite! :SIB
