Possibly, but look for Akron to really do ts best to get RI into out of a track meet and into a half court offense.

This one all comes down to a good defending home side imposing their will.

As I am a huge fan of the Zips I would totally agree with your assesment about Akron wanting to slow this game down but they do have the horses this year to run up and down the floor and they are quite capable of scoring in bunches especially at the JAR. They have scored over 75 pts in every home game except for ark pine bluff and they played downright horrible night. They are also coming off a 85 pt game against Wyoming. I think for them to win this game they have to play the old grind it out get a lead and pound it out every possesion but the question is will they or will they try to run with RI? They are almost transforming into an offensive team more so than defensive which is different in years past. Lets hope they play the lock down half court defense we are used to!!!

Thanks Scott and Outkast. The game went pretty much as expected.

Outkast : Sounds like you have a good grip on the Zips. I like that team as well but they do tend to be really inconsistant this year. The one thing I do know is that a Keith Dambrot team will always stress defense and especially when the Zips are outclassed a bit as they were tonight. They did a great job of defending tonight but the failure to have a great go to guy down the stretch really hurts them. I still think that they will be the best of a pretty bad conference this season. They really just need solid guard play, the hustle and boards of Jimmy Conyers and Zeke to improve to get that job done.

Another undefeated day going 2-0 to keep one hell of a run going. The Akron total was never in doubt and was lucky to eek out a close one in Colorado.

Record goes to 65-41, imagine that....
