FLORIDA -132 (BURNETT VS WOLF LISTED)
FLORIDA:
In this game, I love the fact that Florida starter, A.J. Burnett is pitching at Home today. Burnett at Home has a lifetime ERA of 3.26 and has only allowed a .208 batting average to hitters. In 340 career innings at Home, he has allowed just 252 hits. Last year in 11 Home starts, Burnett was a perfect 6-0 with a 2.80 ERA while allowing batters to hit for a microscopic .188 average.
Even with the great numbers that Burnett always seems to throw up when pitching at home, I think an even bigger factor is Philly's starter Randy Wolf who has a history of struggling vs Florida.
Wolf has a career record of just 2-10 with a 5.74 ERA vs Florida in 14 career starts. Several of the current Florida players have absolutely hammered Wolf in the past with the biggest numbers vs him coming from the tables setters on the team:
Juan Pierre......10 hits in 22 career at bats (.455 average)
Luis Castillo.....16 hits in 38 career at bats (.421 average)
Miquel Cabrera..4 hits in 9 career at bats (.444 average)
Juan Encarnacion..5 hits in 13 career at bats (.385 average)
Carlos Delgado....2 hits in 6 career at bats (.333 average)
Bottom line, I think Florida is about as solid of play you can have for this price. Florida has absolutely killed left-handed pitching the last couple of years and I think they take advantage of Wolf today who was hurt quite of bit last season and still may not be where he should be in terms of his good pitching form yet.
Good luck to all :thumb:
