TUESDAY ATTEMPTS

  • ATL is 7-2 in Burkett's last nine starts, 15-9 in Game 2, 15-8 in JUNE and have won 4 straight on the road, going OVER in each and have basically started to play like the BRAVES of old. They face a first time starter tonite, and with PHILLY having an overworked BP, I like the BRAVES. No overpowering stats other than those above.
  • PHI is 17-7 in game two of a series, 21-12 in home games, 7-4 when playing on Tuesday, but only 15-16 when playing against a team with a winning record & 8-14 in JUNE.
  • BURKETT is 2-0 against PHILADELPHIA with an ERA of 0.69 and a WHIP of 0.923, 5-4 on the road with 2.41 ERA, UNDER is 7-2 in his road starts, he's 3-2 in last five but with a stellar 1.31 ERA

  • OVER is 9-1 in the Phillies last 10 at home, 10-3 with HP UMP Culbreth, 7-1 in the Braves last eight overall, BUT, only 2-5 in last seven meetings between these two.
As much as I'd like to suggest playing the OVER, I can't. PHIL looked like a team giving up last nite, and I don't see them boucing back for BOWA who has been criticizing them as of late. With a 1st timer going for PHI, I see ATL bats having another big nite, BURKETT finally getting some run support, and the BRAVES winning easily again, 7-2.

Not gonna list everything as it's obvious why I'm playing what I am. The last five meetings have played UNDER between these two, UNDER is 11-6 with Cuzzi behind HP( and home team 12-5 ), UNDER is 14-8 when wind between 10-20, PENNY 3-1 at home with 1.64 ERA, UNDER is 4-2 in those games, UNDER is 3-2 in THURMAN's road starts, and 7-3 OVERALL.

AGAIN, LOTS of reasons to like FLORIDA, but I'm not laying that kinda juice. Would take FLA on run-line, but prefer the total.

Here's some interesting stats: With HP UMP Bell behind plate, HT is 11-6 and OVER is 10-6. OVER is 6-1 O's last seven road games, 6-1 in JOHNSON's seven road starts, 6-1 in CARPENTER's last seven starts vs BALT, 7-3 in BALT's last ten (are we seeing a trend here???) and JOHNSON's last 3 road starts have resulted in 20, 13, and 17 runs!!

JOHNSON has never beaten TOR, who are 10-5 in Carpenter's starts this year, but ONLY 7-17 in last 24 home games, and CARPENTER is 0-4 at home this year with a 4.69 ERA. Can't lay the JUICE on a cold home team, no matter who's umping...

BUT, I'll do this! OVER 9 -110

Passing on TB/BOSTON, though tempted to play over. HP UMP Reily is 4-8 favoring the UNDER however, and 14 of last 19 BOSTON home games have failed to get the money on OVER. NO PLAY.

so... Looks like this in early games:

ATLANTA -1.5 EVEN
Florida Under 8.5
TORONTO OVER 9

Gotta get ready to head to VEGAS, so this may be it for the nite, and til after the 4th!! You all have a great nite, week, and a HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!

a 3-0 nite would be a nice send off...
