IL Chicago -2 for 4 units - WIN ? the Flames lost to Youngstown twice this year. After the last loss, on Feb 7th, the Flames have responded and are playing their best ball since early in the year when they went on the road to get wins at Vandy and Georgia Tech. Since that game UIC is 5-1 SU and ATS. The one blemish was their trip to Butler. Their top 3 players (guard Mayo & Kreps and center VanderMeer) are playing up to their potential that had ranked high within the conference to start the season. The Flames are a focused team right now that have been riding recently. I believe their play continues and they move on to Indy with an easy win.
Georgetown -5.5 for 4 units - LOSS ? the Hoyas have owned St. John?s the last few years and there isn?t any reason to think it won?t continue this season. Georgetown, despite having 2 conference games left, is pretty much locked into the 11th seed for the tourney. Now here is the odd thing, despite being that low in conference and with only a 15-12 record, they are definitely still in the mix to make the tourney. They are staring down the barrel of 3 winnable games with this St. John?s tilt being the toughest. If they get those 3 wins, that would put them in the second round of the conference tournament against either Providence or West Virginia. Enough rambling of their tournament prospects, the point is that G?Town knows this and will be focused and looking to take care of business in NY a week before they will need to do it again there.
