cleveland/westbrook (+135)

consistently backing westbrook as a dog is nothing if not fundamentally sound betting. for some reason, sabathia and lee get all the hype for the indians, but if you want a guy who will give you a chance to win every single time he takes the mound, then westbrook is as good as the indians have. works fast. doesn't clutter the bases with walks. throws strikes. and hitters often just pound his sinker into the ground. only drawback is that sometimes he gets minimal run support compared to his teammates (especially lee, who the indians pound the ball for. on an unrelated note, if youre looking for someone who will consistently be overpriced this year, lee is the guy. good pitcher. but nowhere near as good as his record from last year).

Agree. But not often you have to play after a 4 hour rain delay at 3am in the morning still in the pouring rain.

Good points gman2.

With Terry Craft behind home plate, you are bucking the odds. The Indians have never won a road game with Craft behind the plate, and Chicago has never lost a home game with Craft.

i thought the game was tied coming out of the rain delay??? which side had the advantage??? anyway, the underdog road pitcher value is on MIN santana. i like the CHI side but, i see an under as live too.... HOU -1.5 is my best bet today. glta.

seattle/pineiro (+105)

can't really justify anaheim laying the chalk in this particular matchup. lackey in september? maybe. lackey in april? no thanks. pineiro is one of those guys who can have 'ace' stuff on a given night. doesn't hurt to go against a young pitcher who has recently signed a fat contract extension either. you'd think it would ease the pressure but normally it works against them for a start or two.
