YTD Record: 64-38 for +40.6 units

Notre Dame -1.5 for 5 units - USF is a different team without Gilchrist. They have gone 3-2 in his abscence but it hasn't been pretty. Offensively, they have averaged 63 points and 39.5% against some average at best D's. The avg. rank of their 5 opponents in FG% defense is 164. Besides scoring they also miss Gilchrist on the boards. Famous has seen increased production but no one else on the Bulls has stepped up. ND is 29th in the nation in rebounding margin and I expect that to be a big advantage in this one. USF is a weaker team in the not as deep Big East this year, and their game against Ville showed what is going to happen when they play the upper half of the conference. ND is coming off somewhat short rest, but Brey will have his guys prepared as he realizes he can't afford to lose games like this in the Big East if they want to make the tourney this year.

Line just dropped to a pick'em. I see Gilchrist is out for at least a month. Not sure why the line dropped, but I'll bite... maybe the ND players are having drinks @ a bar during lunch???

Not sure of the reason for the line drop. No injuries to any of the Irish and Gilchrist is still out. Only other personnel that could affect the game is that USF had a second back-up guard leave the team in the last week.ND flew down to Tampa Saturday night after their game at UConn, so that should help them a bit in back to back to road games. This game could be considered a ?sandwich? game for ND with WVU on tap this weekend. However, as I earlier stated Brey has this team pretty focused. Wins are a premium in the conference and you need to take care of games like this if you want a chance to get to the tourney later in the year. With the experience that ND brings with this team, there is heavy emphasis for them to get to the tourney this year. I guess this could be labeled a trap, but so be it.

uggghhh - that one left some heart burn. ND up 13 at one point in the second half blows to win by 1. Hopefully if you played it you got it at the better line and either got a win or push.

Updated Record: 64-39 for +35.1 units
