The Clemson Tigers will likely be without starting point guard Vernon Hamilton tonight when they host the Maryland Terapins.
Hamilton, the team?s leader in points, assists and steals is listed as ?very doubtful,? according to head coach Oliva Prunell. Elbow and thumb injuries suffered in Saturday?s loss to Boston College have hampered the junior in practice this week.
He scored just five points, his lowest output in 19 games, and left the floor with his left arm in a sling after the 67-61 loss. Clemson covered as 10 ?-point spread but suffered its fifth consecutive loss.
Clemson is an early 2 ?-point favorite for tonight`s ACC showdown.
If Hamilton doesn?t start, it will mark the first time he?s missed a game in his collegiate career. Senior Shawan Robinson is expected to start in his place.
