not a huge play, but its a dog that i feel will stick around the whole game.

2 units....cleveland state (+11.5) over loyola-chicago

the reasoning behind this one is pretty simple. if rollie gets blown out in the first round of the tourney- he doesnt even need to fly back to cleveland, because his contract will be bought out by the time he gets back to cleveland. theres been talk that maybe the fat man has some good years of coaching left in him, as his team actually showed some heart and had very good showings vs loyola and butler back to back a week ago. the vikings went back to their old ways against detroit on saturday and got handled with ease. but at very worst- csu should show some balls and (while theyll almost certainly lose), id be surprised if its by double digits. also in csu's favor is that the vikings actually got a good first round draw. they played loyola well for 35:00 in chicago a month ago before running out of gas, and then they flat out should have won the rematch in cleveland, but the vikings had no clue how to close a game out, and they ultimately let loyola get out of town with a win. hopefully rollie has one more trick left up his sleeve. if the vikings get ripped a new a$$, his career will likely end on a sour note.

1 unit.....villanova (+7) over boston college

two bubble teams going at it. boston college is red hot lately, but this spot just seems so "ideal" for boston college to lay an egg. theyve always been a team that wins games they shouldnt win, but then once you start believing in them- bam- they lose to a team they shouldnt lose to. everyone is pointing toward boston college's rematch with uconn this weekend- and i feel like the eagles, true to past form, will overlook a desperate villanova team. villanova needs a road win here badly, especially with pitt on deck. given the implications for both teams, i just dont see either team ever leading by more than a bucket or two. cats plus the points for me. will be interesting to see what kind of defense wright uses on bell tonight.

gman2,

From an entirely different angle...

In their L 10 games, LOY-CHI-11' has not beaten anyone by more than this number.

In their L 10 games, Clev State has 6 ats losses:

1. -1
2. -2
3. -6'
4. -5
5. -1'
6. -28

What concerns me is LOY-CHI has performed very well in the role of a Home Favorite.

I originally leaned to Clev St + in this matchup, but my revised position is to pass.

Alot of people here in chicago think Loyola can do well in this tournament. I think they should win tonight, but the 11 pts is way to much. They play really well at home, but to cover double digits against this team may be hard

good luck

kdogg:

not like im telling you anything you dont know, but bailey without question is the x-factor in this game.

in the first meeting- bailey KILLED the vikings, scoring 29 with 7 rebounds and 8 assists. csu was down 2 at half, but bailey went nuts in the 2h and loyola won by 12.

in the rematch, they held bailey to 7 points on 2-12 from the field.
and as a result, vikings were leading until very late and lost by 5.

if nothing else, i gotta think csu will focus big time on bailey and make someone else beat them.

11.5 just seems a little high here like you said.
thx for the reply
