Won't be around tomorrow so tossing this one out now
Two teams that failed as home chalk over the weekend in their bracketbuster games. Miami's loss was predictable. Kent's... not so much.
Kent likes to put three guards on the floor including the best defensive player in the MAC, Michael Porrini. I like this because this Sullivan kid for Miami is the top 3pt shooter in the country at a staggering 49%. Also of note is that Miami's Julian Muvunga often draws double teams but with Justin Greene and Manns down low for Kent this tactic should not be needed. This will result in them better defending the perimeter. The flashes should be able to turn Miami over with some frequency and also enjoy a solid edge on the glass. The Flashes also have the better bench.
In the grand scheme of things Kent needs this one to position for a 1 or 2 seed in the MAC tourney which rewards the top two with a double bye into the semis. Just because they need it does not mean they will win it but I have to think that the staff has grabbed the teams attention after their poor showing on Saturday. The game in Kent between the two was surprisingly close but I don't think the Redhawks get any closer today on their own floor where they are only 6-6 this season.
Bought the hook : Kent St -2
