thought the acc/big 10 matchups tantalize today's hoops menu, gonna start things off this morning with a couple of ultimate contrarian plays, however, going to wait a while to book them and see if we can get some line movement in our favor:

n mex st +3-: yeah miners have the lofty ranking and a 4-0 record, but all wins at home against a bunch of patsies. the i-10 rivalry game will be utep's first test away from, and even though the miners field a lineup of 11 juniors, three, including two starters, are transfers and and have never experienced the intensity of this rivalry game. state, though 3-4, have played by far the tougher schedule to date, and have a decent shot at the upset.

tenn tech +1-: c'mon, purple aces a road favorite against a div 1 team? evansville has a grand total of four road wins in the last two years, and this is supposed to be a rebuilding year as seven of the 14 aces have never suited up in a div 1 game before this year. hell, evansville lost an exhibition game at home a few weeks ago against div 2 kentucky wesleyan college (notorious for being the school where ol' loophole made a one-year cameo appearance in hoops uniform many decades ago). also, aces are fresh off a serious hosing at mia o a few days ago. tech, meanwhile, is no cinderella but have played 6 of their first 7 on the road and usually show reasonably well at the eblen center.
