YTD : 20 - 7... on a 12-1 run so this may be a good time to fade.

We can thank the snow in Buffalo for one thing. Kent State had to hang around in Buffalo for a few days so their game with Akron was moved to Friday night. Instead of two crap games with 4 bad teams we are thankfully down to one game with just two garbage teams to watch.

It may sound silly at 2-7 but Miami Oh is much much better than they were last year and on occasion they are competitive. This is a rivalry type game between the two schools and I'm sure that the Redhawks would feel that their season was somewhat salvaged with a win tonight. On the other hand, Ohio is coming off a tough home loss to NIU where they played arguably one of their best games only to fall short. I'm not sure that they will be similarly inspired as Miami and their tank may be a little empty tonight.

So I'm going with the terrible , but hopefully more motivated home side plus the field goal. Like the under here as well.

Both for just a single unit, i mean how in the hell do you pound a game like this??

Miami Oh +3

As far as motivation goes, isn't Ohio playing for bowl eligibility? If so, it would seem that they would be far and away the more motivated team.

Yes I know that you have a valid point, but they have been to bowls with much better teams than this. Now in Akron where they have not been to a bowl for so long there is a good vibe going into the Kent State game. I'm not hearing that from a couple guys close to the OU sports scene that I chat with. At 6-6 I think several bobcats are just as pleased to clean out their lockers and calling it quits.

I don't know what bowl would want a crappy 6-6 MAC team anyways?

Thanks for your imput :0008

Definitely looks like you had a good read on this. At 21-0, it most definitely seems like the Redbirds are a lot more excited about this game than the Bobcats.

I'll give Ohio some credit. They did fight back and found a way to win after things looked really bleak for them early.

I'll gladly take the two wins on the total bets and a push on the game. I'll move on feeling like I got pretty lucky here.

I think that perfectly describes how I've felt about every win this year in the MAC.

Capping this conference is almost an exercise in futility. None of the stats or matchups mean anything, because nobody shows any consistency from week to week. So instead it's just one question - which team actually decides to show up tonight? Occasionally, both teams show up and there is accidentally some good football. And sometimes, like tonight, it's not even week to week consistency; it's half to half.

Anyway, very nice night! :toast:
