a note for future use... the ANGELS field crew soaks the area in front of the plate to slow down all the balls smacked there when SCHOENWEIS pitches, hence his great home record. He's a ground ball pitcher when on his game. It may be useful in his next start.
WISH I had read HAPPY's insight before playing the ANGELS as SCHOENWEIS was not effective, unable to keep anything down in the zone. The huge 125 pitch count in his last outing was apprarent.
All that mud won't help a ball off the wall!!
They can still come back, but now down by four. Got it on local TV here. On to tonite...
San Fran at TEXAS
REUTER is on a nice run in his last five giving up 1,1,2,2, and 0 in those starts. The BP has let him down as he's only won two of those starts. Neither Rodriguez or Nen were used last night, so the PEN is in decent shape. ROGERS has come up with two quality starts in a row, giving up only 12 hits, 3 runs in 14 innings, after getting shelled in back to back games before that. With SF hitting nearly .300 on the year vs LH starters, I look for them to get to ROGERS and into the TEX BP. I still think 11.5 is way too high with an HP UMP who is 7-10 HT and 6-10 O/U for the year. Going with the GIANTS and UNDER.
