Josh Beckett(4-7, 4.54 ERA) has never recaptured the form
that helped the Marlins to last season's world championship. He's been
on the DL three times in the last three months, has a mediocre 4.31
ERA at home at night and is 0-2 in his last two starts with an 11.57
ERA and a 23.1 H/W ratio. The Cardinals have won seven of nine, 17
of 22 since the All-Star break and are 28-13 on the road against
righthanders (+$1450) averaging six RPG. Chris Carpenter is 8-2 on
the road, 9-3 at night and 3-0 since the All-Star break with a 3.23
ERA.
