Head coach Cy Alexander of Tennessee State is a second-year dude at the school, but he has a ton of tournament experience behind him, having gotten to the NCAA Big Dance a handful of times with South Carolina State. He is a wily fox that has pointed this team to this day and week all season long.

Tennessee State played the most difficult schedule of any Ohio Valley Conference team, by far, over the course of the season, and they also weathered an injury to leading rebounder Flowers early in the year. Bruce Price is a scorer who can take over the game, and Eric King is a quick slasher ? a transfer from the Big East ? who flies in faster and higher than the smaller and slower Eastern Kentuckies for nice offensive put-backs. A less-experienced Tennessee State bunch nearly upset perennial Ohio Valley power Austin Peay in the first round of this tourney last season and now they are older and better, while probably facing a team decidedly weaker than that Austin Peay bunch

This is too many points for Providence to be laying to anyone, even the Johnnies, right now. Providence is a terrible 5-8 SU at home this year, 2-9 ATS and a lousy 2-6 ATS as the favorite. They have dropped 3 of their last 4 ATS and 10 of their 15 conference games this year.

St. John's has now covered 6 in a row ATS, and they stand at 6-1 ATS on the road this year, and the same as the underdog. Stay with the Johnnies again tonight, as they grab the easy cover, and look for the outright win.

Wright State, with a second-year head coach, has been able to do
new things for a while and improve upon their moribund records
from two years ago and beyond, but it's still a relatively
inexperienced team unaccustomed to the pressures of a one-and-done
situation. Butler plays in several non-conference tournaments
every year, against teams like Arizona, which helps them prepare
for situations just like this. It's like lifting weights. You get
stronger by playing better. They point for this time of year and
tend to play better. Their frustrating slow tempo is hard to play
against and their guards do not turn the ball over.
