well, now that i've been called a "fucking genius", i got some pressure on me. to alleviate the pressure, i've drunk (drank?) quite a bit of 'death's door' gin. good stuff, but a bit harsh. anyway. on to tonight's losers. sorry, that's too negative. on to tonight's selections....

one unit each

george mason (+1.5) sure, this line movement has me very concerned. a sober smitty would probably stay off it. but george mason has not just won a ton of games in a row; they've COVERED at least, what, 12 straight? throw in a little revenge from last year's conference tournament.... gotta take the patriots tonight. maybe wes welker will have a big game. whaddya mean, wrong patriots?

akron (-1) the zips have covered at least 4 straight trips to bowling green.

north carolina (-22.5) i'm not going to re-post the numbers from wake forest's conference road games, but it has not been pretty. they are 0-5 ATS, with their closest loss by 21, twice.

you know, morris, va tech "should" only be laying 2, according to sagarin. i think it's been adjusted appropriately. for me, that game is va tech or nothing, and i'm going with nothing.

if you saw all the typos i just had, you'd laugh your ass off. i'm just hoping i managed to spell everything right.

thanks, smax. i tend to agree. :toast:

i really wonder if there are any other madjackers out there who are handicapping while drinking gin and listening to miles davis.

Unlike my guess last night I think that I know this one because it's been discussed in these parts. Coach Dambrot has never lost at BG in his career and the Zips have won 9 of the last 10 in the series. BG's lone win over that span was a pretty big upset in Akron three or four seasons back.

I believe that you have to go back to 2002 or 2003 to find Akron's last loss at Anderson Arena.

FCP, you are a beautiful horse. how fast can you run 6 furlongs? :)

i thought you were a llittle upset with my comment last night. i'm glad to know you're cool with it. i really wasn't busting your balls.

and i tend to believe alcohol has a preserving affect. as much as i love joepa... maybe he should have had a few more martinis in his day. nah, who am i to question any decision that man has ever made?

can a man "hijack" his own thread? 'cause i think i just did it.

if anyone out there has tried 'deaths door' gin, feel free to chime in. i think it's out of wisconsin.

Pal, there is no way i could get upset with you or anything that is said in this forum. Life is far too short.
I thought the long face remark last night was funny as hell.

My horse is a beautiful old boy who is standing in Pa. His name is Real Artist and he's one of the hottest sires anywhere in the pacing world.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA glad to hear it. from your first reply, i thought you were a little upset. but from your "play nice" avatar, i figured you were ok.

pacers? oh my. the last bastion of the truly degenerate (with apologies to my friend who goes by the name 'degenerate'.).

funny thing is, my friend 'degenerate', who will laugh as he reads this, is trying to convince me to go in with him on a thorobred who we know is bred for turf routes, but has only run two dirt sprints at the age of 4. if i wasn't looking to buy a house, i'd seriously consider it. a guy i know at work knows the owners. how sweet it would be to own a horse running at saratoga...

morris, you got that right. i think i'm still going to ask how much they'd want for the horse. i can't do it (hopefully i'm buying a house soon), but i'm very curious. the horse is dixie rocks. she ran her first race at saratoga last year. she is well-bred, and she got bet. but she didn't run well at 6 furlongs on the dirt. then they ran her at 5 1/2 at aqueduct last week, and she ran even worse. they really need to run her in a route on turf.

funny thing for me is... as awesome as it would be to be in the winners circle at saratoga, i'd be ecstatic just parking in the owners parking lot. :)

You get over that feeling pretty quick after your trainer sends you a bill every month for an under performing horse. :sadwave:

FCP... we have already devised a strategy around that... we only feed her if she wins. foolproof!!

and my pal, degenerate, nice to see you posting. i don't think the 2 people who will remember this 'conversation' will really swing the odds when and if dixie rocks finally runs a route on turf. :0003
