last day of 2019. wow.

bowl season hasn't gone as i'd hoped, but i'm still eeking out a small profit.

Belk Bowl

virginia tech (-2) 1 unit
1st H under (23.5) 1 unit
under (46.5) 1 unit. the more i look at this game, the more i wish i'd bet a little more. it's bud foster's last game, and he's facing a VERY 1-dimensional offense. that will be a lot easier to shut down with a few extra weeks of preparation. va tech really improved once they switched to a hooker at qb, going 6-2 with the only losses at notre dame and against virginia. i think that defense will play huge for foster and shut down the run game of kentucky.

on the other side of the ball, kentucky looks solid on defense. until you take a close look at the run defense. they give up 4.4 yards/carry, which is 77th in the country. tied with coastal carolina and ball st. va tech doesn't have a real explosive running game, but they'll grind it out.

oh, AND KENTUCKY IS COACHED BY A STOOPS!

should be an ugly game. 23-13 sounds nice.

nice to see the hokies and wildcats are excited for the game today. could already be a belk bowl record for punches thrown.

i may regret this, but....

florida st (ML) 3 units to win 4.4. i'll take a shot against herm edwards. he'll likely be outcoached today by odell haggins, who has never lost a bowl game as head coach.

two mediocre teams from two mediocre conferences. i'll take the dog, who is probably the more talented team. even if they have no running backs today. if i'm not mistaken, they have one running back active today who had any carries this year. that is deonte sheffield, who had 9 carries for 48 yards. that's it.

but they are playing arizona st, so it shouldn't matter. 'noles role.

over (52.5) 1 unit. i'm counting on some bill snyder magic still hanging around the k st football program. they should be disciplined enough to handle the option, especially with the extra prep time. and if k st can rack up some points, navy may have to throw the ball 10 times.

fun fact* navy has never beaten a qb named skylar.

and, yes, k st is led by a coach in his first year leading the team. so i'm probably fucked.

georgia st (ML) 1 unit to win 2.2. readers digest* version... georgia st was really up and down this year, but i'll take a shot with a team that won on the road at tennessee over a team that might not even score 7 points.

over (55) 1 unit. obviously the big question is does utah show up? small bet, because it's hard to say for sure. but i trust whittingham. even with the loss last year, he is 11-2 in bowl games.

big game for senior zack moss against a texas defense that gives up 4.2 yards/carry (62nd in the country).
