Money Management
Money Management
Dry1, I am sorry to see you in this state. I have been there and would like to share with you my "short" story. I used to follow Nolan Dalla's NFL selections (about 5 years ago) on the AOL message board. He was the goose that laid golden eggs. This man is a walking sports encyclopedia. Though he is not having the greatest of seasons, he still survives with sports wagering. How? Keyword: MONEY MANAGEMENT. There are just too many great cappers here to mention, but right off the top, Nolan and THUNDER have taught me the art of money management; and some where along the road, I also learned to handicap some games by myself (which is the fun part).
I think the worst thing you can do now is to hop on board with another "proven" capper. The reason is it could be possible that you jump on the new capper's losing streak. Believe me. I have done that. Hopping from one capper to another capper is gambling in itself. I used to go to Madjack and write down all the day's selection from cappers A, B, and C. Then cross out the plays that are in conflict and play the remaining selections. Guess what? The remaining plays were the losing plays. I have also searched for "the play of the day" thread and pick one play from one of the leading cappers. My theory was this particular capper can't lose 5 or 6 consecutive games. So why don't I just play his 1 selection each day. If it loses, then double-up the next day and continue to double-up until he wins. Well guess what? You get damn nervous after doubling up 4 or 5 times your initial bet. Please do not do this. It does not work.
I don't think THUNDER is lying when he said he has made positive money for each of the last 9 seasons. I'm willing to bet this will be his 10th straight. With good money management, you should be able to come out on the positive side at season's end...if you follow his percentage plays to the letter. Another suggestion is to get several outlets. Example: I got a push tonight with Utah UNDER 175, while THUNDER got a win because he got it at 175.5.
I am not saying all this to convince you to ride this out. You might need a break to clear your mind. But when you do decide to come back, there many cappers here who are more than willing to help you.
Madjack is a family. You can always find help here.
Best of luck to you, Dry1.
