ytd 1-2
-.75 units

Dodgers +200
1 beer

Rockies +190
1 beer

I won't be one of the ones jumping in front of a train today.

Mariners +135
3 beers

My goal is + 40 units by allstar break, which I feel should be a challenge but very attainable. Here we go. Good luck to all.

My system is based on a $100 unit. I have a firm 50 unit Bankroll.
Meaning I will not chase after the 50 units if they dissapear. My
plays will be ranging from 1 to 5 beers.
1= .5 unit or 1% bankroll
2= 1 unit or 2% bankroll
3= 1.5 units or 3% of bankroll
4= 2 units or 4% of bankroll
5= 2.5 units or 5% of bankroll
All thanks to Thunder who is the best money management guy on this site.

Smashmouth,

I know you have had your problems with money management in the past, so I just want to give you some unsolicited advice. I would strongly recommend contracting the breadth of your units. When you have plays that are played for 3 or 5 times as much as other plays, you are playing with fire. That is not only from a pure mathematical standpoint but from a psychological standpoint as well.

My point is, If a +190 play is worth playing, then why is it not worth playing for as much as the +135 or +120 play? If you are going to make a long term profit on those big dogs anyway, why not maximize that profit for playing the plays for the same amount as your lower priced dogs? If you are worried about turning a long term profit on those big dogs, then why play them in the first place? Either way, I think keeping the unit amounts at least closer to equal is something to consider. Maybe 2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5% and 4% would be something to look at.

Advice is always wanted and welcome.
Yes I have had money management problems in the past, but, alot of that had to do with losing and chasing, which I knew was fundamentally flawed, but did it because I had an above average stake with which to invest.
The reason my plays on the to dogs were lower than the smaller dogs, was simply because I liked the Mariners and Rangers more. No other reason. Thanks for the advice on money management as far as my units go. I think it will work out. one way or another you will know because I post my plays and keep an honest and accurate record in my threads. That way people can make their own judgements based on what they see. Not on reputation alone.

Not to contradict but PERCENTAGE WIZE 1-2--3-4 % works for me.

But you will never see me post a 1% not worth your time to read and I play very few 4% maybe one to every eight or ten 2% & 3% plays.

Bottomline ask what works for others and keeps you comfortable mentally and stick with it.

Commonsense is a valuable commodity. :cool:

i agree that yesterday was a black day for favs, but i don't think it'll go on the whole season, i think it wouldn't be such a good idea betting on the dogs like you did today the whole season, you'll run out of beers!!!!!

good luck
