Now that the college basketball season is over its time to start posting in what I feel is my strongest sport to cap. College hoops was awesome for me this year both from a wagering stand point as well as my overall enjoyment of the season. My Indiana Hoosiers could have had a better season, but considering the lost of Jeffries to the pros I can not complain. Last nights game was a great cap off to what I feel was an entertaining year for NCAA Basketball. Congrats to all Kansas and Syracuse fans for the efforts that your teams made last night and an extra congrats to all those cuse fans for taking home the championship.

Celebrations and coverage will continue but in all and all its now in the past.....lets move on to the current and the future.....Temperatures are beginning to rise, daylight savings time has arrived, and ball parks all across the country are beginning to buzz with the enthusiasm that spring fever brings to us all.....this excitement is much shorter for some of us (Texas Rangers fans like myself for one) as our seasons don't have as much to offer as many others.....unless we can show profits from our short term investments otherwise known as sports wagering.....I have been fortuanate enough early as I have now gone 10-3 on MLB but my record on this site will start today at 0-0 as my record will always reflect what I post here....sometimes I am unable to post but still able to play because of time restrictions from work and other comittments.....but those results will not be reflected in my record on Madjacks'

Enough with all the jabber, lets get to work.

Oakland (Zito) -175 @ Texas (Thomson) 5 units

@Pitt (K.Wells) -170 vs. Mil (G.Rusch) 4 units

@Hou (Oswalt) -1.5 @ -125 vs. Cincy (Dempster) 2 units

Oakland (Zito) @ Texas (Thomson)

I am a fan of the city's team that I live in (Dallas-Texas Rangers). AROD is my all around favorite player and love the red, white, and blue uniforms they sport (especially in a time like today where my patrionism is at its highest)! I am fan of the owner, Tom Hicks who's passion for baseball is at a level that not many can challenge but this team will continue to struggle this year as they did last year. I love to get out to the ball park early in the year to cheer them on as they are usually out of contention early and then my time spent out there is to watch my wallet grow and scout the opposition. This year I plan to get up and get up BIG by wagering AGAINST the home team that I would like so much to see win.....those Texas Rangers. They opened on the road with 3 vs the Angels, then got to come home to play 3 vs Seattle and now have to look forward to the month of April bringing (3 vs Oak, 3 @Sea, 4 vs Ana, 3 @ Oak, 3 vs Boston, 3 vs Yankees).....Ouch for them, Yea for our pocketbooks. Zito goes tonight with a perfect 7-0 record vs the Rangers and a 3.04 ERA. In 71 innings pitched he has 74 strikeouts and only 25 walks, 24 earned runs. He faces John Thomson who pitched 4 innings in an early outing vs Ana and was pounded for 10 hits, 2 HR, 6 earned runs, and only 3 strikeouts. Oakland wins in route to a 3 game sweep.

@Pitt (Wells) vs. Milw (Rusch)

A Pitt team who seems to have found a surge of offense with the top 6 hitters (Lofton, Kendall, Giles, Ramiriez, Simon, and R. Sanders) have produced 26 runs in the first 5 games on the road while going 4-1. Yesterday's game was postponed so today they get there home opener against a Milwaukee team that might be right there with the Rangers. They are 0-5 while scoring 14 runs in those 5 contest all on the road. And they will continue to be on the road for their next 6. This is another team that help us get a great start on the season by wagering against them as they have pitt and then are off to Arizona. Wills is 4-1 in his short lifetime vs. the Brewers with a 3.04 ERA in 37 innings pitched. He gets to battle the eratic and inconsistent Glendon Rusch who is a poor 0-6 liftime vs Pitt with a high 6.06 ERA. In 52 innings he has given up some lofty numbers (66 hits, 10 HR, with 33 K's). His first outing this year was right on pace going 5 innings while yielding 11 hits, 7 earned runs to earn him a 12.60 ERA. Lets go Bucks!

@ Houston (Oswalt) vs Cincy (Dempster)

Two fire ballers who can bring the heat but only one who has showed consistancy over the last couple years.....Oswalt is a perfect 6-0 vs Cincy in his short career. In his 61 innings pitched he has 41 K's, 39 hits, and only 7 walks and 2 HR yielded. He has an outstanding 1.65 ERA while Dempster is 2-4 in his career vs Houston while pitching 51 innings giving up 56 hits, 32 walks, 15 HR's, but getting 42 K's. His 6.00 ERA vs Houston will likely only increase in tonights game in a Houston ball park known to produce runs. Houston has played 3 games there this year scoring an average of almost 8 runs per game (23 total). Couple the Stros offensive production at home with Oswalts ability to limit the Reds offense and I see some value in Houston giving up the 1.5 runs at -125.

SD (Peavy) @ SF (Moss)

I don't usually wager against a winning streak (defined by me as winning 3 games in a row) as my favorite saying is that "if you wager with a streak you can only lose once, but if you wager against a streak you can lose over and over again." San Fran would surely qualify as one of these steaks winning 6 in a row now and playing at home, BUT in baseball you find some of those situations that make your gut tell you otherwise. This is one for me. Both pitchers are young, up and coming, possible future stars of the game, but I really like this Peavy kid. Going against my favorite theory as I see a lot of value in getting a little less then +200 with a young strike out pitcher who rarely gets rattled.
